Well, it looks like it’s coming.

It’s being reported that the sanctioning bodies are floating changing ball and driver testing as well as limiting driver length to 46”.

Of note, it’s being said it would be up to the events to decide to enforce or not? Local rules?

Thougts? Who sues first?

Also being said companies were briefed on Monday?

Have to think there’s a lot of not happy people.

I will not support or adapt to an adjusted golf ball. It has been one of the most enjoyable aspects of my golfing experience to fit into a golf ball and enjoy the benefits of one that suits my game. To take that away now would be gutting. If that means I don't play in any sort of event, great. I could not give a ****

From the pro side, I think it's stupid. Flatter swings benefit the most.

I'll now stop jumping to conclusions until I see the full depths of their (likely terrible) proposals.

If you want to increase the number of people taking up the game, this is NOT how to do it. :banghead:

Time to stock up on balls now!

They sure do seem to be pointing to bifurcation....which I think is just going to create a **** show.

make the pros all play the same (rolled-back) ball.

change this ball week to week.

don't tell them the specs of the ball beforehand.

don't touch the equipment.

Killing my 48” driver dreams before they even took flight 😢

That potentially kills manufacturers.

I occasionally roll my ball out of fairway divots without a penalty and they think this will stop me?!

I just don't see how they can possibly make this work at all.

I have yet to hear a convincing argument that there is a distance problem.
But Joe, they have a “distance insight study”

Ah yes, the paper that justified the predetermined conclusion.

Selecting a ball that fits your game is as critical as shaft or club head at this point.

Taking that away waters down the experience, and caters to a certain type of player.
