UST Mamiya All In Putter Shaft

My Bettinardi will be shelved for a little bit. There is a strong possibility it makes a come back with the reviews you guys have posted

Just ordered another one. All 11 putters I have may end up with this shaft.

Put the All In Jailbird combo on timeout. Went back to the All In Triple Wide setup and it was like reuniting with the one that got away. Couple birdie scares. Whole lotta pars. I think I just need to stick with old reliable.

Still have to add some weight to putter heads to get them feeling comfortable again with the all-in compared to other steel and graphite shafts

That said it will allow me to play heavier putter heads which I have always avoided.

I used to play mallet exclusively before the 21 Grandaddy. Then it was almost all Triple Wide up until this year. Now it seems anytime I go back to a mallet I struggle and get frustrated.

Such a comfort level with the Triple Wide shape I knew it would be an adjustment. Just fell in love with the Jailbird shape and hoped it'd be an easy switch. I won't give up on it, but You're right it'll take some time.
First few times out with my Array F3 and All-In shaft I was really worried I made a mistake, either with the shaft, putter, or both. Those concerns are long gone at this point, just took some getting used to I guess.

I felt the same way at first. Once you get used to the stability of the shaft and get your distance country dialed it's so good.

Hit the putting green yesterday and the Eleven with the All-In shaft just works so well together. It’s really made it easier for me to get the speed right on putts and proximity to the hole is definitely improving. Most of my struggle right now is just getting the right read. I set up about 20 feet from the hole with a little right to left break (about a cup or so outside) and once I had the read and had a target line, I made the next three in a row. It’s just easier to hit your line with the All-In and the more I putt with it, the more confident I get.

I pulled and reinstalled my All-In shaft into my new putter. 32 putts today. 4 one putts. 50% FIR and 1.89 putts per GIR. Made 3 putts over 20 feet. Not a bad start at all. I think I had 2 or 3 second putts I had to earn. The rest were pretty simple, close putts. Distance control came easy today. Why’d I leave this shaft in my old, old putter instead of gaming it the whole time?

Yesterday I had one of my better days putting, but not necessarily from a total number of putts. I had 34 putts, but I was playing horribly was always out of position. So most of my first putts were 40-50 feet or more, but I was able to lag everything up close to the hole and walk away with an easy two putt. A good example was on a par 3 that I ended up on the back fringe with the hole cut in the front 1/3 of the green. The putt started breaking left but had to come off of the shelf in the back, which broke to the right and then the slope carried the ball back left again at the hole. I honestly expected a 3 putt, but ended up about 2 feet from the hole. It was like that all day and even made a few solid putts from outside of 6 feet, including a 12 footer to save par and a nice 10 foot birdie. I'm trying to measure my excitement so that I don't jinx it, but man is it hard to do that when you see the weakest part of your game FINALLY start to improve. I know 34 putts isn't great from a total putts standpoint, but the fact that my time on the greens yesterday was stress free is a huge win to me and the only thing that's changed is the addition of the All-In shaft.

On a week long timeout from hitting driver and irons so I'm focusing on the putters this week. Been doing some side by side testing with the All In shaft in both the AI One Jailbird Mini and the TriHot5k Triple Wide.

So far I love the feel of the All In Shaft in both of them but the feel and control I feel with the Triple Wide is winning out currently. Much easier to hold my line and feel the head/face with that one at the moment.

Excited to keep working with both and I'll post more thoughts on each. Just some initial testing showed I'm much more accurate with the Triple Wide.

These two are in the rotation now. There is something with the 5K TriHot and AllIn that seems to work. I still need the heavier weights for it but early results from putting indoors are encouraging

I’ll bet the Triple Wide / All In combo is money.

6 of my 8 do and it will only be a matter of time before the other two get the swap.

The Chicago would be interesting. But I 100% agree on the 5K. The combo does work. Really well!

It's fantastic. Starting to realize I really love that insert and combined with the shaft.

Man I can’t wait to get this installed in my 8-T!

UST Mamiya All-In Putter Shaft: Initial Thoughts, Visuals, and First Roll on Putting Mat

I’ve always been one to welcome new technology into my golf bag. There is so much innovation in golf, and I’m always one to try and see if that can help my game even an incremental amount. I’ve been a big fan of the aftermarket putter shaft since I first got to see and try the LAGP shaft back in 2020. I never quite loved the feel of that shaft, but the idea of what the technology was trying to do was always something I was a fan of. A lot of people are easily influenced to drop hundreds of dollars on a driver shaft, so why not make the same kind of investment in something you use on every single hole.

I’ve been searching for that piece to add to my putters. I’ve tried stability and LAGP but haven’t fallen in love with either of them. The feeling was never quite right for me. I had never given UST Mamiya’s shaft much thought until getting heavily involved with THP and seeing so many people’s signatures have it. And once you see the price of $99, it’s a no brainer to try it.

I typically have 2 putters that I will go back and forth between. My current gamer is a PING PLD Anser that has no markings whatsoever on it. I always like to have another blade style with a line so if my alignment feels off, I can play around with different markings on the head. I decided to put the All-In into an M Craft II from Mizuno. I’ve been putting well and before making the jump with both putters to the All-In I wanted to try it on the current back up.

Visuals and First Impressions

The All-In is a sleek looking golf shaft. The graphics are well done in my opinion, and the finish on the shaft is something I really enjoy. It’s subtle yet has a fierce look to it. Combined with the Black Ion Mizuno putter, it looks quite badass I must say.

Along with the visuals I was immediately surprised by how heavy this shaft felt. I knew the weight (126g) from ordering it, but I guess I wasn’t prepared for how heavy the shaft alone would feel.

I’ve always putted best with putters that have a lighter feeling swingweight. I’ve never gotten along with putters that have the head feeling super heavy. Putter heads have gotten heavier and heavier, but it’s something I’ve never loved. It’s why I love my PING so much. Whatever the weight may be, it doesn’t feel like a heavy swinging putter to me. This is also why I loved the Mizuno for this experiment. I can play around with the weights in the head to change that feel.

First Putts

After picking up my putter from the shop I wanted to get some rolls in on my putting mat at home. I can max out at about 6 feet, but enough where I could start to get a feel.

I was quick to fall in love with the way this putter felt. Even though the shaft is 126g the swingweight didn’t have that super heavy feeling to me. I could feel the stability added from the shaft right away, and honestly felt like I would deliver that putter exactly how I wanted every single time.

I’m excited to get this over to my club’s putting green and hit all sorts of putts with it. But so far, it has been amazing. Like I said, the added feeling of stability gives me even more confidence over every putt I hit. I never have that wobble feeling happen in the back stroke and know its going to have the same repeatable performance each putt.

I’ll report back when I have some more time with this, but I feel like this shaft may be added to every putter in the rotation sooner rather than later.

Great write up. This still stands out to me. I'm glad someone can phrase it more elegantly than I could.

That full graphite will be the heaviest of the three. Luckily the majority of my putters have needed the retrofit and at 90g, it allows me to control the head weight a lot better. Same for the Steel tip. I purposely went this way to make sure the head weight could be adjusted to my liking and not have to worry about counter balancing the grip

I've preferred the feel of the full graphite slightly over the steel tip. When they have both been in the Cleveland. Didn't notice a big difference in the weight despite the 30g between them.

I like light putters. 345-350g was my preferred head weight with steel

Despite the static weight of the graphite all in, ive added more head weight to everything it's been in too get some feeling back.

Steel tip hasn't been in as many heads. So will see if I get the same feeling.

I have one of these that should get here today to start trying out. Excited to get rolling with it.
