UST Mamiya All In Putter Shaft

Keep in mind the SL shaft and the Allin are two different options. Not easy to plug and play as the SL has the weight in the grip. I think the weight missing might be at play here and a quick test would be (if you like the grips) a Super stroke with a weight in the grip to see if it gets better.
Yea I have a Superstroke on it and tried both the 25g and 50g weights in that with them as well. It might just be me and this putter, I'm not sure.

Ok THP @Nappy motivated me to run some unscientific tests with the ALlIn shaft that I have installed in most of the putters I own. A little background on myself. I love putters, they are in fact the one thing that if I could, I would own more than I do. From a skill perspective I am feel like I am a pretty decent putter. Above average in fact where I feel like I read greens very well, understand the total dynamic of what it takes to make a good stroke and start it online. As an amateur I am not without my faults, and I tend to miss on the low side more than I would like and my preference is to have my putts “die at the hole” versus using speed to take out the break.

So here we are with the following putters, AllIn Retro fit or Steel tip, all at 34.5” and with 1* of loft (based on my last putter fitting recommendations)
  • Scotty Notchback
  • Odyssey OWorks Jailbirf Mini
  • Odyssey Tri-Hot 2
  • Toulon Chicago
  • Odyssey Milled Collection 6M

The canvas is my PuttOut mat and the target is the Pressure Putt Trainer all measured from the furthest distance which is 6’ based on my measurements. I used my CSX TT as the test ball. I am categorizing a made putt as any putt that rolls up and back down the trainer is a made putt. Any ball that sticks to the micro target is one with perfect speed.

Here are the results from each putter at 6 feet:
  • Tri Hot 2: 9/10 putts made and three were perfect putts that stayed within the micro target
    • Only miss was high
  • Jailbird Mini: 8/10 putts made and no perfect putts in the micro target
    • Misses were high
  • Toulon Chicago: 7/10 putts made and no perfect putts.
    • Misses were low
  • Scotty Notchback: 9/10 putts made, and one was perfect that stayed in the micro target
    • Miss was low
  • Milled Collection 6: 7/10 putts made and no perfect putts
    • Misses were all low & speed seemed to be an issue
I love little tests like this because some bias we all have gets flipped upside down. I fancy myself as a player that prefers a milled putter, but the results above were really clear that the inserts work better for me. I know the Scotty was 9/10 but that one is like riding a bike and just feels so natural when I putt with it. Some would say “then stop here dummy and game the Scotty” but not all putts are created equally. If I am being honest, I loved the sound/feel feedback the Jailbird Mini & the Tri-Hot presented which has me chasing the comfort my Scotty gives me and has the same success.

With the Toulon I forgot how “compact” it looks at address for being a wide flange blade putter. Results were probably what I expected but I found myself not comfortable with it. I came back to “if I had to, I would play it” but not the putter I would immediately grab. The biggest surprise was the MC 6M. The overall presentation is great & the misses seemed to be a result of the ball losing speed and falling off to the left. I felt like I was hitting all the putts within relatively the same speed but with the 6M I felt like I had to give it a little extra.

Overall, I think I know I should probably have the Scotty or the Tri-Hot in the bag full time with the Jailbird Mini being a strong contender as well. The Toulon and the 6M seemed to be the “worse” of the bunch, but I would like to get them on a real green because my history with those putters outdoors has been really good. So, when I say everything might have been solved and nothing at the same time, you know what I mean. Hope you enjoyed the test and I'm happy to expand on anything.

I like it.

With any testing on the putt out Mat I would always go outside one of the wide lines so the groove wasn’t as bad.

Yeah it was something I think about and I didn't mention it but I vacuumed after each set to start fresh.

Love it dude. Based on that I'd keep the TriHot and the Scotty in the bag. LOL.

I'm gonna try and do a similar test out my local courses putting green too. Also have my Bridgestone mindset balls in hand today, so that'll be cool to test this along with them.

I am leaning this way. I have the heavier weights for the Tri-Hot coming so that will get first shot out of the gate.

Just rolled a few putts indoors with the Metal Milled #7 with All-in and I miss that feeling of stability. It’s about time to drop one into my DB 7T.

Been practicing a lot with my Mizuno with the All In shaft and the feel is super stable…might be a little tough to see in this picture but starting to middle it every single time

Excited to keep gaming this and it’s become my new full time in the bag putter. The backup is getting the new shaft too!

Switched back solely to the Triple Wide and All In shaft. This combo is just too good. First birdie of the year was a 15 footer on the Par 3 closing hole at my home course. Made A LOT of big putts tonight.

Been using one of these for over a year now. I am not sure it makes a difference in any statistical measure but I enjoy the feel.

I got a second one installed, third one for the O-works 330m is on deck.

I searched out this thread after I saw how many people are putting this shaft into the Odyssey AI-One putters and I just don't get it. There are three types, if I wanted to try this stability shaft in my 2021 Ten Triple Track (Zero Toe Hang), I'd need to buy the all in 0.370 Straight Tip Putter Graphite/Steel combo right?

I just don't understand the difference between the 3 offerings?

They're made for different hosels/shaft types. For example, a single bend shaft needs the retro fit. I'm not familiar with your putter, but I'm sure someone will chime in with which it needs.

100% graphite can only be used in putters with a plumbers neck type of hosel where the shaft goes inside.
The retrofit is for putters that have a double bend shaft, you cut and install over the shaft above the bend.
The straight tip combo is for slant necks and other hosels where the shaft is installed over the hosel

If you have a face balanced Odyssey Ten odds are its a double bend and you need the retro fit.

Thank you!

Wait one more question on this, can it be re-used? So if I drop it in my double bend shaft, which it is I can confirm that, and then I decide to upgrade to a Odyssey Ai-One can I reuse that shaft? This is probably a dumb question but...

FYI the straight steel tip can be used in a plumbers neck putter. It will not be as heavy as the straight graphite but it will work. I have it in a couple of plumbers neck putters where I want to have the head weigh heavier.

Reuse the all in shaft? Yeah I would think so but you won’t be able to reuse the original shaft since that needs to be cut. There are instructions on UST website

All-In Shaft ordered for my Odyssey Ai-One Milled 3TS, looking forward to installing it as I have an All-In Proto on my Chicago that worked out great.

Picking the 8T up tomorrow. Could have put the ALL IN in myself but didn’t want to fool with it haha.

o went to pick up my 8T from having the ALL IN put in and someone used a fricking belt sander on the hozel on the putter and sanded the blue off the hozel. Tried to tell me it was already like that. Pitched a fit to manager and he replaced the putter all together. Pics tomorrow.

I’ve gotten some more time with my All In which is in a Mizuno M Craft II putter. I’ve practiced with it at home on my mat, at the club I belong to on the putting green and out on the course.

The biggest, or I guess most important takeaway, I have is my contact point has become more centered and more consistent. Not that I ever had these crazy heel or toe misses, but playing a blade a slight miss can really deter a putt. The stableness of the All In allows me to find more consistent contact on all lengths of putts.

I also feel much more comfortable over putts inside 6 feet. It goes back to the stable feeling I mentioned but it just adds a layer of comfortability on those putts that can be testy, but ones that keep good rounds going.

I’ve ordered another shaft to add to my other blade style putter that I’ve used. From the way this feels alone it’s worth adding to my other options, especially at $99. It’s a steal, and something that will make your putting more consistent. I’ve always been a believe in something aftermarket in the putter and this does a damn good job at an even better price point compared to competitors.

I mentioned it in my first review but I tried this on a whim from reading other peoples signatures on here and I’m glad I did. It’s provided more stableness and consistency to my putting.

I got a couple of these on order. I am going to try one in the Scotty Cameron Super Select Newport I have been rolling lately.

Change of plans. I just picked up a Bettinardi BB-1W all blacked out. Going to thrown an All In shaft in that and see how that feels. But I like the way it’s going.

My favorite putter shaft of all time. I just continue to excel with this thing. It pairs beautifully with the Triple Wide (I was dumb to even try the Jailbird).

Now my imagination is wondering what a AI One Double Wide combo with All In would be like, but that'll only become a thing way down the road. So many putts close (on greens that are still recovering from being aerated) and so many shots off the fringe that I was able to judge the speed correctly.

The feel is just fantastic and I love that about this pairing.
