UST Mamiya All In Putter Shaft

So the retro shaft would be the easiest................cut the stock shaft, insert the retro, trim, grip..................done.

I had this same question for the Jailbird, and almost bought the retro. But it turned out the All-in steel tip was actually easier. No cutting required. It fits over the stub hosel. Until there's an all graphite option available to the public (someone was using a proto recently), I think that's your best bet.

You can go with either one. All-In 0.370" steel is probably the easiest.

So any update on the proto version for those of us too superficial to play a bi-matrix looking putter shaft?

Any thoughts on having a factory black steel tip instead of chrome?
That would be a cool option to have.
Better looking than using a Shaft Wrap, which always has a seam and overlap.

We prefer the chrome look. We have done black steel tips in initial testing but the look was always off.
Black >>>>> Chrome :(

Getting the blacks to match across materials is always a challenge.

Would there be a big difference in feel between this -

Cutting the stock Strokelab shaft, leaving 6" and using the All-in retro
Or
Removing the complete Strokelab shaft and using the All-in steel tip

I think it’s less guesswork, and you can go back to the old shaft if you don’t like it (using the steel tip version)

I’ve assumed the retro is mostly for double or single bend shafts or putters that don’t have a plumbers neck or stub for installation.

Seeing this float on the page today I was hoping we got a teaser that colors were coming

@DannyLe can the steel tip all-in be easily extended? Does one need a special extender or just use a piece of steel shaft and maybe a bit of tape to smooth out the joint where they attach?

That's good idea.............remove the stock and replace it if needed.

I did read that the retro is for factory bent shafts, which is what I used on my #7 DB.

The butt end of these can be extended much like any other shaft.

If asking about the tip side I’m not sure.

Thanks, no not the tip side. Some people use a piece of old shafts as the extension, that’s what I meant.

Gotcha. I used a simple graphite shaft extender piece. I’m guessing no issue with using an old graphite shaft either.

Should be no issue. Just measure ID of the graphite portion and find extender from GolfWorks.

Our stock All-In 0.370" steel tip will be more stable vs going retrofit.

Ok, I'll go with the All-In steel tip if I decide to play around with the Odyssey Max 1 putter at all.
Thanks !!

I don't necessarily understand how I got so lucky to find a putter combo that works so well, but I did and it's been wonderful. The All-In is a huge part of that. I rarely find myself putting a poor roll on the ball these days, and as long as my read is right I expect the ball to go in the hole more often than not inside 10 feet.

Finally dropped off a putter to get the retrofit installed. Hoping it’s ready to go before the Titleist event!

Another area of the game I don't have to worry about. Just hit it solid and it's going to do what you want.
