These are prototypes and they hit tour a bit ago. THPers are the first consumers out there to also have their hands on them.

While we can’t talk about the tech, they are coming in 2026.

Can certainly say they look stunning based on the pics that came out of Shaft Up #1. Very much looking forward to learn more.

Great to hear! Shaft up guys had some major gains from these! Can wait to hear more

Always interested in a new UST Mamiya product!

I can’t wait to hear more!!!

I'm short on time, but definitely want to get a few thoughts out there on the new UST Mamiya LINQ Powercore Shafts. First, the shaft I was fit into. It's the LINQ Powercore White 6R. I do believe I may be the only person in the world playing this shaft/configuration. How wild is that?

These look fantastic and really excited to hear about the tech going into them

I can’t wait until you can reveal the tech story on these. The gains everyone saw at ShaftUp were incredible.

Excited to be able to talk about what I can. It should be easy to no talk too much about tech as not much is really known.

Here is what I do know regarding the shaft I was fit into. It is the linq powercore white 6TX version 1. Ben Griffin is playing this same shaft in the 7TX. I hit that one as well but the 6TX put up better numbers. I honestly have no idea what the torque is, or the profile. If I was to guess just based on the feel it is a softer butt and stiffer mid and tip. The reason I say that is because this shaft did not feel to me overly boards or hard to load. There was an activeness to it that felt really good.

Personally I like feeling like I can feel a shaft load. For me then I can tell where the head is and be better through the ball.

On course, the first 18 holes I played were a struggle. But that is because swing was jacked and I was not hitting anything well.

But the second 9 hope match I found something that worked and I hit some really good drives. That continued the second day.

I know there is a version 2 they are working on as well. The difference is the weight of the fiber and the amount of resin in the shaft. I liked the version 1 the most as it felt better to me.

So you got to hit both versions? That's cool.

The potential fitting matrix based on the shaft graphics is interesting to day dream about the depth of it

That little hint of copper in the artwork is sharp

Reality is I know very little about these shafts. Some talk about the construction and materials took place when we were with UST, but in general I know almost nothing. I can tell you what I saw and how I got to this shaft though.

First, I generally am pretty self-aware when it comes to equipment and I know what seems to work best for me. Coming into my fitting at the ShaftUp! #1 at Victoria National I was playing a DS-Adapt Max-K 10.5 degree head with the stock Denali shaft. I wish I could say I was striping that driver, but the truth is I had my good moments and bad moments. I was really trying to force a pull out of it, which is just a bad way to operate on the course. Why? Because my miss was wipey and short right. Pull was lower, but got me those extra ground yards. Prior to that I was playing a UST Proto that we have a thread on.

@DannyLe didn't like what he saw and neither did I lol. He moved me into the DS-Adapt X almost immediately with a LINQ Powercore Blue 6S. I saw instant improvements in my launch numbers and dispersion with that combo. For what it's worth, I knew the head was an X, but didn't know the loft or what shaft I was in. In fact, I had to ask him afterwards what the progression was.

Anyway, my launch stayed in a manageable window, but my spin dropped enough that my carry started increasing. My wipey miss was a bit stronger and less short/right. I was able to close the face quite a bit easier, which is an issue I was having. However, Danny asked me one thing that I think moved me towards the shaft I ended up in. How does it feel? My answer was that it felt stiff to me. That makes sense, since I am a fan of a softer feeling shaft that I can feel more through the swing. I happily play R or F3 flex in just about everything.

It was less than a minute after I remarked about the feel of the Blue before Danny put me in the White 6R. Again though - I didn't even know what it was. I did know that it felt great and I was seeing even more improvement with my numbers. I actually thought we were going to be done at that point. I was a big fan of what I was seeing and had already gained substantial distance and improved my dispersion. He wanted to try one more thing and put me back into the Max-K. Again, this was unbeknownst to me, but it was the 9 degree Max K.

That head with the UST Mamiya LINQ Powercore White just took the good things and made them better. Again, loved the feel, loved the ideal launch/spin window, and loved that I more or less couldn't miss a fairway. I mean, I did miss fairways playing afterwards, but not many and Victoria National is no joke. It took severely mis-hit balls to put me in bad spots.

If I were to guess, and adding in a little educated knowledge, this is like @Templet0n said. A softer but and stiffer everywhere else shaft. My assumption with a shaft like this (low launch/spin) was that it would feel too stiff, launch the ball too low, etc, etc. I never ever would have even picked it up to swing if you'd left me with that pile of shafts. I was wrong - just feels great and (along with the right head) gave me an extremely consistent driver game.

It's kinda odd when he hands you something. You try to peek at it and he says "don't look just hit it"...

The gear nerd in me found that hard. But in the end he found the right fit.

Very excited to learn more about these from the guys, as well as more from Danny later in the year!

Yea for whatever reason I just didn't even care to look lol. Normally I would, but this was the first fitting I'd ever felt comfortable in and I was just soaking it in.

I was fit in red 7s linq which I believe is more spi higher launch in profile. Even though I didn’t have much of a swing in the fitting, I hit the driver great on course. I can’t wait to get some more rounds, track my numbers, and share them here regarding my gains vs my old gamer.

I never looked at anything until he said this is it. And since I was struggling, he was working overtime and I hit a bunch of different combos and settings.

Excited to hear more on how these shafts feel for everyone. Will also be curious to ultimately see how these compare and feel relative to the current LINQ lineup. Love the current LINQ white and wonder if that translates to the Powercore White.

I am really looking forward to getting one of these in my hands.
