Just did a trip to the Ventura Ca/north Los Angeles area. Played the following courses: Rustic Canyon, Olivos Links and two courses at River Ridge. Olivos Links was my favorite of the bunch followed by Rustic Canyon and then the 2 courses at River Ridge. All 4 courses were fun and not boring.
Rustic Canyon was a very forgiving Links style course that played up and down a canyon and was in excellent shape with fast and true greens.
Olivos Links was a true links style course. Lots of shot options going into the greens. Greens were phenomenal. Best part was the $60 green fee. I would have paid $100 for that course.
The 2 courses at River Ridge were very fun. Not as polished as the other 2 courses I played but they had the most diversity in terrain. Fast greens that got a little bumpy later in the day.
If in the area I put my stamp of approval on all 4 courses.
