Verizon outage

I debated putting this in the rant of the day thread. How many of you are part of today’s widespread Verizon outage?

I’ve been without service since about 12:30 or 1:00pm. My phone has been in SOS mode pretty much the whole time except a few periods of about 10 minutes when I had a 1 bar signal.

There have been quite a bit of post about it in the rant thread. While I have Verizon I have not had any outages at all today. Sounds like lots of people are affected but guess I am one of the lucky ones.

Weird. When I open the rant thread, I only see 3 posts after 1pm today. And none of them are about Verizon. I guess that’s probably related to the outage somehow.
 
All. Freaking. Day.

It's brutal. Can't take or make any calls, not even Wi-Fi calls, which if you know my job is a total nightmare. I can text/message only, and only over Wi-Fi. So if I go anywhere I'm listening to the radio and otherwise detached from the world.

I'm sure several of the calls I've missed have been wellness checks but I'll never know it.
 
If it makes you feel any better apparently you can get one free Krispy Kreme

My wife's identical phone on the same plan is fine btw. And she gets about 2 call per day. So the universe is definitely effing with us on this one.

Same here. WiFi texting only. And strangely only some of my group chats work. The others just say message not delivered. And they are all mixed apple/android groups so it’s not that.

Saw that. But it was only from 5-7pm. And the nearest Krispy Kreme is an hour away
 
Im on Verizon and I have not been affected

We are out here in South Florida.
 
have verizon as well and had no idea there was anything going on. Sucks that happened to you guys. I've had it in the past and it's annoying af.
 
My daughter in NYC was from about 12-1 pm. We and my daughter in NOLA were out around 5pm (that we noticed). We’re back now (not sure about my kids).

Fun times
 
my iPhone has been SOS basically since 12:45. Work S24 has been fine. Both Verizon

Have you thought about setting up call forwarding to her phone and borrowing it during the outage?

I have Verizon and it has worked fine all day. That sucks

Nope. My wife's android has been in and out. I have no clue why one of mine is good and the other Is sending out an SOS to the world.

They couldn't set it up this afternoon because their systems are down.

And you can't access your account about it. My wife can't from her perfectly functioning phone.

It's really weird. The reason Wi-Fi calling won't work is because it has to send identifiers or something and the people that are screwed right now "don't exist on the network". It's not registered or recognizable. Here I'll show you.

I don't know that I believe it's a service issue in the sense that we tend to think. It's more like everyone got wiped from their system or something. It's so bizarre.
 
The weird part is that we both got an email from Verizon a few days ago saying that they were upgrading the network in our area and we may experience some issues. So we initially figured it was just that, but it’s obviously something larger.
 
I lost service from about 4-7 pm
 
I was down for a few hours, but wife and daughter in same house were fine.
