Vortex Anarch Rangefinder Review

Three straight days of usage at Briggs Ranch for an amazing THP Experience and I have to say I am 100% hooked.
First off the optics are fantastic, but the ability to customize is what I liked.
I handed this off to Kyle our caddy and his response yesterday was "looking through my Bushnell now is like looking through a toy".

Accurate, decent speed, amazing clarity and the stabilization is fantastic. It almost throws you for a loop at times, but just nails it.
Im going to order one for my father who is 85 and doesn't like using his Bushnell anymore due to shaky hands.
That will be a great gift.

What blows me away is the fact that a PRO doesn't know the industry enough to know there is a major new player in the golf product market.
I wonder if they simply lose interest and its just a job to them.
Maybe that's why pro shops are some of the worst customer service people on the phone I ever deal with.
He runs the city teaching program. He is not in the actual pro shop. I think it would be impossible to know all of the products coming out. If i was not on here i would not know about Vortex as i have never seen them in a store. Luckily we have a resource like THP to guide us!

I have men’s league tonight and it’s an interesting game this week as they just punched the greens last week.

We will be playing red tees in a scramble format so I may be shooting some longer distances tonight going for some greens!

I played this morning in the awkward early light which sits low on the horizon and the Anarch display flexed its muscles when looking directly into the sun.

The way it, to my eye, will fade from red to black based on where the light is (non-direct vs direct) is just fantastic. I never have an issue with brightness or reading the measurements clearly. I love that.

The auto-brightness adjust feature with the reticle is so awesome in those conditions. Something that I absolutely love as well and another feature that you maybe don't necessarily realize is so beneficial until you experience it.

It’s honest to goodness probably my favorite thing about the whole device. I know the optics are badass, but the visuals on the display and how easy to read it is in all conditions is probably the most under talked about thing for me still.

I love how that happens automatically

Just showed up an hour ago.
Off for a rare midweek afternoon round with the Vortex.
First time I have ever used a range finder as I always used a GPS type. But after the poor battery issues with the Bushnell Wingman always happening midround I finally made the switch.
I did go straight to the hardware store and bought 2 spare batteries.
(why pro shops rarely have batteries for sale is beyond me).
Excited for the first round with it.

The attention to small details that you'd never even think about otherwise is just another prime example of how good Vortex is at optics. And this is only their FIRST golf rangefinder iteration. Can't imagine how good it's going to keep getting as they take feedback and continue to fine tune.

Absolutely, and they have BIG plans.

It’s exciting.

I honestly can't wait to give this a try in a couple of weeks. I have BIG expectations based on the thoughts that have been going on in this thread.

Mine is supposed to be delivered sometime this evening.

I have a round scheduled for Friday morning and I'm going to try to not use my Shot Scope H4 for yardages and just use the Anarch. We'll see how it goes.

This is something I haven’t really utilized yet. I did use it at dusk and was surprised at how well it I was still able to see.

Next time I’m out I will try looking toward the sun and then away to experience the auto-brightness feature.

Second outing with the Anarch tonight. So good. Lock on was great, speed was good, optics perfect. One of the first golf purchases in a long time that my tinkering mind is not second guessing. This isn’t going anywhere, ever

Well, how about that! It's here and it's amazing! Shooting targets out in front of the house and it's so clear and locks on so fast. And so consistent and, apparently, accurate. Lock on to a target, the step back a yard and get a new number but one yard farther. Sit and shoot the same target over and over and it never comes back with a different number. Very consistent. The IS is the friggin bomb too. Just a solid, stable view of the target. Can't wait to try it on the course Friday.

So as I mentioned earlier we played the red/family tees tonight for men’s league so every hole we were shooting the pin from the tee box on.

I only had issues locking into the pin once tonight. It was like a 235 yard hole, but one where there is a hill awkwardly blocking to pin so you can just see the top of the flag. It took me two tries but it locked in and someone else had to move further left to get theirs to lock in. (They had a Bushnell) for those wondering 🤣.

Again, the clarity even from shooting pins 300 yards out is so easy, clear and quick IMO. I thought tonight was a cool test for it and it passed with flying colors.

I was cleaning out the garage last weekend and found my old Vortex Ranger 1000 rangefinder. This was the first rangefinder I had that my parents got me for a birthday. It's a hunting rangefinder so it didn't work great on the course as you had to put it right on the flag to pick it up but it got the job done. A few years ago the battery died and a buddy gave me an old Bushnell before I got around to replacing the battery. I ended up losing the battery cap to lock in the battery so it's just been sitting around for year. Decided to send Vortex a message to get one and get this going again to leave out at the ranch for hunting. I sent them a message about 7:00 last night that I'd lost it and needed to see about getting another. I got an email a person with their VIP Care that they will get it sent and to check the mailbox in a few days.

I love how easy it was and no questions asked and they are sending me one. I'd have even been willing to pay for it and the shipping since I lost it. It shows their customer service though and how they will take care of us and stand behind their product with the VIP Warranty. That is a huge bonus for this as you don't have to worry about it ever failing as they will fix or replace it.

Wow, you just don’t see that level of service these days. Impressive.

I turned off the red display last night and actually quite liked black display. It seemed extra sharp compared to what I see on other ones. Not that I’d move fully from the red (which after a couple weeks of use now, isn’t actually that red), but it was a nice to switch it up a bit.

On other models red is good for me on those gloomy days.

Oh I like the red, and will be going back to it. But I do wish it was a bit brighter. Even on 3 brightness, it still has some black tint to it. It’s not BRIGHT red which I’d love way more

ever had one that has red display, but you can tell it doesn't have good sharpness to it? I've had some of those in the past and they are rough to look at. If you are going to do red as a company, make sure you did it right.
