Vortex Anarch Rangefinder Review

It would totally make sense that different carts have a different metal makeup in their parts so magnet strength could be effected. I had never considered this until this moment but it seems to make total sense to me. I will now forever be on the lookout to see how magnets stick to different carts. #nerd
It certainly can be.
I can say my Anarch was attached to a Club Car cart at Ballyhack for the last 72 hours and they barely have cart paths there. I had no issues.
But I have seen others say they have. No idea honestly.

Thanks for the feedback here - magnet strength has been consistent feedback, and I can promise you we're working on it!
I have honestly felt the one on mine is great. Never once has it so much as moved while I have been in a cart.

So here is an interesting tidbit. I asked our caddie to give it a try a few times over the last few days. It blew him away. He was ready to ditch his V5 Shift instantly due to the clarity
We had Reed's Dad as our caddie and I let him use it some and his exact words were "Holy $**t"

He said it was way more clear and easier to lock on than what he was using.

Magnet has been perfect. Has never moved no matter how bumpy the cart path or terrain has been.

Look at what popped into my email tofay

I haven't read all 41 pages, but my hands are a bit shaky, can anyone talk about the stabilization feature? I was thinking of the Nikon CoolShot because that has a stabilization feature.

I've had mine on carts at my home course, where cart paths and the course in general is rougher than anything I play anywhere else - and I've never had issues with the magnet. It's surprisingly strong on the one I have. I've been waiting for it to come flying off an it never does.

The AirTag announcement still feels like a salt in the wound announcement.

You’re welcome? 🥲😆
Thought of you immediately when I saw it.

Yeah it is super nice.

I find it to be noticeably different from any other rangefinder I have used...my dad is someone who also has fallen in love with it. He struggles sometimes to keep his current one steady, but he can grab a number with 1 hand now with this unit

One look and you will be sold on the stabilization. The most compelling thing is looking at the flag with the unit off, then turn it on and you instantly see things clearly and moving in slow motion (great for shaky hands).
The field of view is wide which is great, and the negatives are not show stoppers like: A confusing menu system that takes some getting use to. A case that seems to have the clip mount too low. And a magnet that is either adequate, or weak, depending on who you talk to.

I have trouble enough with two hand with a regular range finder, I can't imagine doing it with one, lol. Thanks for your response.

I think you'd notice a pretty big difference...he was my biggest tester for that

The stabilization feature is hands down the best feature as it brings the rangefinder to another level, imo, which is why I really love the Vortex Anarch!

I do not have any experience with other rangefinders that have stabilization, but as someone who has enjoyed photography for nearly 20 years, I have lots of experience with nikon vibration reduction (VR) and they definitely make quality stuff in the optics department. With that being said, I had a nikon rangefinder in the past and without factoring in stabilization, the Vortex would be my choice for various reasons. Build quality, overall design, ease of use, and a lifetime warranty are a few things that pop into my head right away and the optics are every bit as good or better. Also to add, they are based in the USA, supporting an American company that delivers and stands behind a quality product is a no brainer!

Thank you! Which is the main thing I'm interested in. I am also looking at the Nikon CoolShot ProIII.

I gave up using rangefinders because of that very problem. This has solved it. So easy to get an accurate reading quickly!
