Vortex Anarch Rangefinder Review

This case I think if you are a walker, or even a push cart user, the case they provided needs work. The pictures you guys put up does not look like it's any different
My new one it is the same case. I was told the magnet should be better, but I am hesitant to use it lol. I just now keep it in the case in the dash.

The standard case that they ship with them now was not good? Or is this referring to one of their older cases?
Its fine enough, hangs weird on the bag due to position of loop for carabiner. Compared to others its not as good though

Magnet has always held strong for me. Never an issue

I really hope they listened to our feedback on that case for next release. It was....not good haha
How is the elastic band closure on the Anarch case? Do you feel like it holds it securely closed, or do you feel the need to use the zipper to secure it?

I think it works for awhile but it's strength gives over time

I've never felt like I had to zip it up but I usually do anyway when not in use

I did notice mine was pretty weak, at least compared the the NX7 I have. It’s pretty easy to slip off of the knob.

Exceptional is what their customer service is.
Yep. Getting my Anarch reminded me I needed to get a battery cap for my old hunting rangefinder. I emailed them that I lost mine and they simple asked for my address and they they would send one. That was a Wednesday or Thursday and I had it by Monday.

My hat came in today, and while this isn’t a hat review thread, I love this cap. The fit is perfect!

Quick comparison between the NX7 and the Anarch straps.

As you can see, the NX7 has their strap stitched into the lining of the case, whereas the Anarch is just using knots through the eyelets to hold it in place. Now, it really shouldn't be of any concern how this is done, because you're never pulling on the strap hard enough to where those knots should come undone or pull through the eyelets, but is worth noting. The NX7 strap is also noticably thicker and feels like it's not something you'll have to worry about.

For such a nice, premium product I think I would like to see the straps reinforced or built into the case somehow.

I am impressed with the build of the Anarch and how rugged it feels for how how relatively lightweight it is. The Anarch is a comfortable size and is easy to get a sure grip due to the Comfort Guard. All day long I was getting distances quicker than the guys on my tee box and my numbers were consistent when shot multiple times. The other guys were struggling to get a consistent number, but the Anarch had no such issues.

My Anarch has seen the ground and cart path on a number of occasions and still works flawlessly. I don’t want to jinx myself but this unit seems indestructible. It’s wonderfully built.

You were getting yours quicker the them because you trusted the numbers or pin lock made you confident in what you were seeing?

Mine has also hit the ground more than I’d like to say thanks to some poor driving lol

It’s a tank!

Mine hit the ground a couple weeks ago, it was on the cart post and I think I bumped it so my fault. I couldn’t get it to turn on, no display or anything. I sent it back to Vortex and I’m waiting on it.

That’s the great thing about the VIP Warranty! Nothing to worry about if something goes wrong!

Although I've used a rangefinder for the majority of the past 12 years, the Anarch is only my second experience with the slope feature and I am loving it. Living in western Oklahoma, we don't have quite the on-course elevation changes that some folks around here experience, but it's been so nice to get the numbers and not have to guess how much the slope adds/subtracts from the actual yardage. Saturday morning I recognized very quickly that I was getting quick yardages (plus slope) and those numbers were consistent when I re-shot the yardage more than once, but the guys on my box were getting different yardages from what I was getting and their numbers would change every time they shot the flag. I didn't break the news to them, but I felt like I could be completely confident in the yardages coming from the Anarch and found they fell right in line with the F/M/B yardages from my Shot Scope V5 watch. I think the biggest eye-opener has been utilizing the Anarch on the courses I've played most and realizing how big a difference having those slope numbers has made in my club selection, after playing the "wrong" yardages for so long. Having the accurate yardages and the degree of slope is already making a difference in regards to my course management. I know the saying, "ignorance is bliss" but I can confirm that saying does not apply to the slope equation. Love the positives I'm already seeing from the Anarch and how it is impacting my scores.

There’s a reason I I usually shoot my own distances even if others are also shooting at times. At least when slope comes in to play.

Honestly, I HATE when multiple guys stand on the box and all shoot distances for themselves but every time they'd share a number that was (at times) as much as 8-10 yards different than what I was getting with the Anarch I realized I had to shoot my own distance. The proof was in the pudding as I hit greens all day and they were short/long all day.

Can’t argue with the results!

The Anarch is going back in the bag for this weeks rounds so I can revisit some of the things you guys are talking about.

When it comes to stabilization, the Anarch is no joke. During yesterday’s round, I noticed right away how much quicker and easier it was to lock onto flags compared to what I’m used to. I’ve always had a bit of a shaky hand, and with my old rangefinder I often had to take multiple shots just to get a steady read, sometimes even bracing it against the cart roof for extra support. With the Anarch, that’s pretty much a thing of the past. I was able to lock on cleanly, even one handed a few times, which felt great.

The image stabilization would be a huge plus for us....<ahem> more "seasoned" golfers whose hands might not be so steady anymore. In addition to making it easier to lock on, does it also make the image you're seeing through the eyepiece clearer/more stable?
