Week 6: THP Fantasy Football

That L2 trade is suspect at best imo. I get that each owner manages their team as they see fit, but you can’t convince me that’s a balanced trade.

To play devils advocate (and only that reason) I can see a little bit.
Hill has not been announced when the return is (although most think its this week or next)
Preston has been deemed by most "experts" the player to watch on that team.
Before injury, Engram was solid.
Tevin Coleman isn't worth as much as people are crediting him in my opinion.

With that said, its hard to see value in having 3 Dolphins on a roster, most of which are not tradable and dumping a player that you have held through the entire injury all of the sudden all to get a single player in Elliott back. I would rate it similar to the Raiders trading for Antonio Brown.:)

I agree though, teams should be allowed to manage the way they seem fit and I have been asked to reach out to both owners and have done so.

A quick and easy three game losing streak takes me from first to worst and I'm scouring the waiver wire for anything that has a heartbeat and a chance to see some points. It's pretty much a desolate wasteland out there. Then again, if you can lose three in a row, you can win three in a row right?

That's the spirit! :)

From my perspective I'm looking at it from a position to position trade. I see it this way

RB - Ballage/Zeke for Coleman - Ballage has not scored more than 2.5 points in any game this year and is a throw away player in the deal. It's Zeke V Coleman and no way you do a 1 for 1 with these two much less have them be the positions you swap in a multi player trade.

WR - Williams for HIll/Golladay - Again Williams might be the most productive WR on the Dolphins, but no one would trade Hill and Golladay for him. I know Hill has been hurt and until he suits up he is worthless, but we all know he will suit up (most likely this week) and be a key piece for arguably the most explosive offense in the league. Golladay is a top 20 WR.

TE - Engram v Ertz, this one is a wash when looking at the numbers, but you have to consider the recent injury to Engram and maybe pause about making this one.

So in the end its really Zeke and Engram for Ertz, Coleman, Hill and Golladay, and that is lopsided for me. Again not my team and we are all to do as we wish. I also know all trades are never truly balanced as someone will give more than they receive, but this one is not fair based on player and values.

You can't just look at a trade in a bubble though and deem it unfair. What if the team giving up Hill/Golladay has 2-3 other serviceable/quality WRs and he's willing to give up a little more than normal to dramatically improve his RB position?

Just because it may look lopsided on paper does not mean it doesn't have the chance to improve both team's starting rosters.

Well said I completely agree with your conclusion

There is no way you can convince me trading for any dolphin right now makes your team better or provide depth. I know there are other factors involved which is why i stated "from my perspective" to provide context.

In the end it's not my team and I am expressing an opinion that this isn't a trade I would make and the reasons why.

I think the trade is interesting at best, but I have spoken to both participants and don't find they did this in a colluding way.
So I recommend it being approved.

I never said trading for Dolphins players could make your team better, I said trading for Elliot could make your starting roster better if you have other WRs who can produce close to Hill/Golladay. Obviously one end of that trade is getting more value than the other, but without seeing full rosters I can't say whether the trade is fair or not.

For example (this is all hypothetical as I don't know the rosters), let's say he also has 3 of the following 4 WRs - Kupp/Chark/McLaurin/Gallup (which is very possible combo to have). If that is the case then you're damn right I'm making that trade to get Elliot.

Ok, I am sorry to be the issue here today. I was busy at work and didn't see this.

I would definitely argue that both Drake and Preston Williams are startable in a 16-team league and having Drake's handcuff doesn't count as having three Dolphins.

The best player in this trade is by far Zeke and in a 1/2 point PPR league, he is well worth two strong wrs.

Hill, according to Dr. Chao a specialist used by many in fantasy football is still reporting that Tyrek Hill is out till week 8 most likely. So, if your team is 1-4 and needs to get wins do you continue to hold out for another 2 weeks or have to cut bait and get the best player in the trade?

Golladay is currently ranked 17th on footballguys.com, so I wouldn't put him as a stud wr or a number 1. He is a mid number 2 with a lot of variances weekly

Engram has scored more than Ertz this season and most would say they are the 3rd and 4th ranked te. Again, footballguys.com has Engram at 4 and Ertz at 3 so to say one is much better then the other is not fair. The trade was also made BEFORE any announcement was made about Engram being hurt. Again, according to Dr. Chao, he doesn't see any video of a prolonged injury and expects him to only miss this week most likely.

Coleman was a throw-in since he has been hurt and is in a full RBBC situation in SF. Footballguys.com has Coleman ranked 24th. I would argue both Jones and Williams (my other rbs are better starters).

When I did my trade analyzer, it had my team improving only 1%. I didn't like offering Zeke, as giving the best player in any trade is usually not a good idea, but I thought the depth I would get back would help long term. WRs in this league are not close to having the value of a top 3 RB.

I know no one has thought there was any collusion, but you don't like the feeling when others are talking about your trade and the implied feeling that something fishy is going on. This is just fantasy football and I want to have fun. Winning is always the goal, but never at the idea of losing my name, reputation, or any friends I have and will make on this site. I don't like the feeling of anyone thinking that way toward me or someone I recommend to come here. Therefore, I know my trade is set to be approved, but I told hammer and he agrees (he even has another trade with some of the same players to another owner) that this trade should be canceled. If it was already processed as I am writing this then I will offer the players back to hammer so he can work out other trades. I know he has offered many many trades and received some whopper offers that I would find interesting to see if approved.

I apologize to anyone that had to take time out of their day to look over and discuss these trades this morning. This is not something you ever want in a fantasy league and I SURELY don't want with my name involved. Hopefully, we can all get back to having fantasy football fun and some great trash talking in league 2.

You don't have to apologize, you did nothing wrong. For what it's worth, I have no issue with your trade as I feel no trade should get vetoed or cancelled when both teams agreed on the trade (regardless of other people's opinion of it being fair or not).

I just got out of meetings for the day and both Fuffle and Hammer asked me to cancel for the betterment of the group so I have. I sent a lengthy statement to the group that doesn't need to be shared with everyone but this is the first time I've ever been asked to veto two trades in one day. I did feel both were beneficial to one side more than the other but I found no fault in them and would have approved. Let's remember this is a fun league and not take it too seriously. I appreciate the sentiment from Fuffle & Hammer to calm the league down but at the same time am sad that it had to happen.

There is no need for you to apologize about anything. Just because I (or others for that matter) didn’t see value in the trade doesn’t mean it didn’t make sense to the two owners making the trade. My comments were strictly based on how I value trades and why I wouldn’t have made the trade. I never thought collusion as that is a serious accusation and one that shouldn’t get thrown around lightly imo. JB said it was good so it should be good.

I don’t like trades getting vetoed and you guys should be able to execute that trade if that’s what you want.

Which is exactly what I told them, almost verbatim.

you send that in the group chat? can you send it to me via pm please? Any message from the commissioner to the league I would like to be privy too.

Sending you a PM now

Nice and thanks for waiting until you play me to make a trade. I will not be kept from moving to 6-0. ;)

My trade wouldn't have effected our matchup, I will still fight to the finish to dethrone you haha.

Almost 6 weeks in? About. Time.

Our league has been weird, it's been really hard to find a way to help both teams. I have another trade in mind that I think will be sending out in a little bit. Let's see if we can make it 2!

Not everyone can do the crazy that is L2

That is like @IceyShanks level trading all day every day in league 2.
