Since days remaining are less than arrival, I'll toss in 10, too. Straightforward.
Pretty large fairway. Big slices will hurt. It's all tall trees over there. Green is elevated and can be sketchy.

Just a week away. I look forward to this weekend every year and can't wait to get started. #troy and Jeff kick it off coming my way Thursday where we'll play Capital City Country Club. Originally a 9 hole course opened in 1908 and expanded in 1935 by A.W. Tillinghast, CCCC is part of the Florida Historic Golf Trail and one of the finer golf courses in the area.

Friday morning, Troy, Jeff, @MikeG and myself will be playing a newly reopened and renovated course closer to the gulf, Wakulla Sands. Much of the old front nine is now the back nine, but the rest of the course is newly routed and maintained from sprigs by the guy who is widely regarded locally as the man who has saved several local courses when conditions went downhill. Wakulla Sands is a fairly open course, but lives up to its name with several sandy waste areas and bunkers scattered strategically along the course.

From there we drive to Valdosta, GA and Kinderlou Forest for the biggest Gethering yet. Two days of the best people from all over on an absolute hidden gem of a course. I am excited every time I get to share it with THPers who have never been. We played there the first time in 2014. Rented the condos for the first time that fall. Gone back every year we could if not for a pandemic or hurricane.

This time next week a bunch of us should be packing out clubs up at The Lakes Golf Course at Laura S Walker and heading towards Valdosta.

Might have to hit a drive through in town to grab a case of something cold before we get there.

So glad y'alll are letting me in the practice round, I will be heading north to Winston Salem to see grands afterwards, prolly should pick up a case of something for them from Papa Donny....:ROFLMAO:

Well, there are a LOT of ways to play 11.
Don't go right. The left bunker stinks, too.
Keep it in the short stuff off the box, and you can pretty much create the 3rd shot you want.
Lots of options here.

It's getting close fellas!

Can someone post the expected itinerary? When to arrive on Friday? When are expected tee times?

Thanks!
We pretty much just wing it. In not sure what time @T0AD is getting there, we'll get there some time late afternoon. Order pizza Friday night? Tee times Saturday are 11? Maybe? If everyone is ok with it and they can accommodate us, we can do dinner at the clubhouse? We used to a bunch of steaks but the the logistics between the meat shop and the grill at the condo gets more difficult as the group grows. Sunday 8am tee times then back to the condo to clean, then we go our merry ways.

Sean can PM everyone once he gets condo and gate codes.

Be sure to stop and get any drinks or snacks you want. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I dont recall the set up, but I believe its a drip machine and they may or may not have grounds and filters.

Do you all want to figure out your own rooming situations, or do you want Sean to assign rooms?

Either way, I've got dibs on one of the bedrooms with its own bathroom.

Whatever works is fine with me.

Is there a place to get breakfast or am I bringing bread and butter for toast?

I can't speak for everyone, but I usually go to Chick-fil-a on Saturday, then Waffle House on Sunday. I want to say someone brought microwave breakfast sandwiches before. Its your world, boss.

Well we made the playoffs but have a bye this week which conflicted with me attending. Damnit!!!! Oh well, on the flip side I found out I have to head on a work trip Sunday morning that would have still impacted me from playing!

Have a blast this weekend fellas!

I'm working on the final bits. Should be getting charged today and then will probably get the codes. Was told that we can get there pretty much whenever on Friday. I will be shooting for an early arrival to A) claim my bedroom, and B) help get people in and ferried to the course parking lot if necessary. Or just sit on my butt and watch TV.

I fly out in less than 48 hours. Lets go!

Sweet. Let me know what time you're arriving and I can plan on being there just after that (to let you settle) so I can pick a room! ROFL....and I figure if I can get there early, I can park my car somewhere out of the way and leave it, since I'm driving by myself.

For those flying like myself, check the TSA security times and make sure you account for that. I checked and it's quoting 180 min to get through security and I have TSA Pre check. I am hoping that is on the high side, but with the shutdown I am not taking any chances to miss my flight.

And here I am annoyed I'm going to have to be there at minimum 45 minutes before I board because I'm checking my clubs instead of the usual 15 minutes. Gotta love 2 gate airports.

Not sure there's a lot anyone can do about it, but having flown a lot the past few weeks, be warned: the shutdown has ATC short-staffed and flight delays are VERY common.

Sounds like Chick-fil-a and Waffle House are the way to go.

I’ll be bringing a box of microwave crap or 2 some beer bourbon coffee and water.

Love waffle house and chick fil a....
I'll be bringing a lot of cigars, whiskey and uncrustables.....
