What are you building? (Club style)

Not really a build but I bought a dozen Lamkin 360 standard grips. I really like the ST+2 hybrid but couldn't find them in stock. So I decided to go with standard grips but build them up to try to match them taper-wise. Am I right in thinking it's one tape for the top hand, two extra for the bottom hand?
I would think it's 1 wrap for the full length of the grip and then 2 extra on the bottom.

I just took my old Cally Diablo Octane 3-wood out of moth balls, and pulled the factory shaft. I am going to install a 75g Aldila NV which I had in my old driver, which was a Cally Diablo Octane 10.5*. I had butt trimmed this shaft to 42" when I had it in the driver, and was not swinging well. So, I will not be tip trimming this shaft before install, since it is short already. I can't wait to get to the range for a test drive...

Tried making my own +2 build on a standard Lamkin 360 grip. Swapped out my old Lamkin ST+2 on the 7-iron and put a new built up grip on it.

I have the new kai’li red built for my 3w. Next up is taking the adapter off of the linq purple that was in my 3w and installing it into my 19° apex uw.

My Cally Diablo Octane 3-wood is done! It has been in my bag since Thursday, and I'm just itching to swing it at the range, whereas the weather is not cooperating here. Maybe tomorrow...

First trial run wasn't bad, didn't think about the grip when I changed between clubs. Should've put the +2 strips slightly more towards the handle and tapered that section better.

Get it out yet?

Shifted inside from the garage for building due to weather, but pretty excited for making my “fancy” club as my daughter calls it even fancier with the white pearl shaft.

Update: Yesterday the linq purple was put into the UW. This afternoon I need to butt trim to length and put the grip back on. Should be able to test it on Sunday.

Did some measuring with my swing weight scale that I got for Xmas. My Radspeed that I've always liked is a C9. It's the one I'm fastest with. The Darkspeed I was fit into is a D3.5, I have two other shafts (KBS S & X) and the Darkspeed is D2.5 and D3 with those. Pondering sticking some lead tape under the grip to bring that swing weight/balance point down. Or try swinging without the adjustable weights.

Experimenting time. Realised my Radspeed has the RDX Smoke Blue which is counter balanced so definitely different than my other shafts. Stuck 7g under the grip, got it to D2, removing the 3g head weight got it to roughly D0. Looking forward to testing.

About to install some FF33 tips on some different shafts.

I don’t understand. Counter-balancing means more weight in the grip, producing a lower swingweight.

Got my ferrules in on Monday, so I pulled the heads tonight to get ready for a Saturday build.

I am not adding lead tape to an already counter balanced shaft. 😂 I am doing that to a different shaft, if that's what confused you.

Yes that would be it. Thanks! 🤣

I have a bunch of different shafts but I've always liked the feel of the RDX Smoke so I decided to try some things out. A bit wary of adding weight to an already (for me) heavy shaft (Tour AD VF6 X) but we'll see how it goes. Good thing I bought those cheap grips off Amazon so I feel like I can tinker without wasting money.

Will be adding to this thread very soon! Just waiting on the shafts to arrive!

Looking forward to the update, will be putting the linq purple in my 17 degree UW soon.

Hit it for the 1st time yesterday and was hooking the hell out of it. Hit some big ones with it but they were hooking like crazy. Visually I need to figure out face alignment and ball position.

I have the linq Purple in my 21 degree UW, really like the way it feels and the performance I get out of it. Hoping for the same with my 17 degree UW. Good luck finding some Zen with your UW.
