Van Morrison - All of "Astral Weeks"

You absolutely cannot go wrong with old Van.

My absolute favorite song from last night:

Black Stone Cherry

"For guitar guys only" Gov't Mule @4:00

Can't forget brother Zakk and Black Label Society... or something to pump you up to smack 300 yrd drives all day long....

I know that this is not everybody's type of music, but if you really love Passion Pit and Phoenix (both bands that I LOVE). There is brand new band (I say this b/c they've only been together for 7 months) that I think is the next big thing. I love every song on their EP and they signed by RCA Records before they ever played a live show.

They are called Smallpools and here's there EP, give it a listen if you like Passion Pit and Phoenix.

This concert was on tonight and this song stood out to me. Especially the part when he talks about his Mama, since it's right at a year that mine has been gone. Love Tom Petty but haven't heard this song in ages.

What Are You Listening To?

On the drive into work, I listened to my Red Hot Chili Peppers selection. I don't have any RHCP that is younger than 1991. For any of the younger readers on the forum, this is what the Red Hot Chili Peppers used to sound like, back when they made good music.

DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS!

99 Red Balloons redone by Goldfinger

Talking Heads Psycho Killer. Run run run run run run run away......

Chvrvhes:

Five Iron Frenzy (a ska band of my youth reuniting!)

AWOL Nation Kill Your Heroes: for some odd reason is the right mix of chill and aggression that just gets me pumped up to do what I like, whether that's lifting weights or hitting a golf balls.

A legend who often goes overlooked:

They're currently working on their new album, so it was a good time recently for me to get into Dead Sara. Absolutely amazing rock band. You can find every song of their debut album on youtube, but this is my favourite song. Some are harder, some more melodic, but this one just builds for me in a way I can listen to multiple times a day.

My mother's most common anecdote is that she was on the ship 2 slots behind the Edmund Fitzgerald going into the safety of the Bay. She says it wasn't even the worst storm of that year, just must have been a fluke.

Been listening to the misfits this evening. Always good times.

Benjamin Britten and Chopin. Don't ask.

Been listening to Amon Amarth's new album. It SLAYS.

Bouncing around songs on the iPhone. Last three, John Prine, Social Distortion and Black Stone Cherry

I'm gonna ask. Class? Or just good back ground study music?

It was for a class. But to be fair, it does make good music to study.
