What Are You Working On?

@Ronnie D was helping Tuesday night on my set up and my alignment.. it is one of my biggest and simplest things I struggle with. Feet aiming too far left of the target and then I swing down that line and wonder why I pull it left :ROFLMAO:
Yes sir! We will get you fixed up don't worry! People won't stand a chance haha

Consistency and short game.

Oh boy. Today I learned that I set up with my shoulders fairly open. Furthermore I think I may sit and walk like that too! Need to have a word with my chiropractor.... But I'll be working on getting my shoulders square but it's a real effort! Gonna be a weird one to work through just when I thought I was done with major changes

Iron game. Delivering the grip end pointed towards the ground on the back swing. Flush it off executed properly, large draw if not.

I want to play my next round hitting everything at 75% max full intensity.

Playing with my current injury this should be an easier commit. We will see come Saturday.

Anyone with tips on how to not let the hips slide too forward in the downswing?

Target. been trying to engage legs more and sometimes it becomes a slide instead of more a turn
Athletic Motion has multiple good YouTube videos around that if you’ve never checked them out. Search their stuff for Recentering.

That’s what’s started it, lol, and now I get out too far. Will have to dig back into their stuff. Thanks!

Address setup. Have always put a lot of forward press at address but has been a bit of an issue the start of this season. Working on sorta revamping my pre-shot routine to avoid this and in part has been working quite well when I do.

I’ve seen them use an empty box or foam roller or something standing up by the left hip and try not to knock it down if moving too far or DO try to bump into it if not moving enough. 🤷‍♂️

Doing okay with my driver and short putts
Working on the other bread and butter shots irons and longer putts
I find easier to imagine a draw and the work it into a fade pattern from there rather then the other way around.

Just doing some basic things. Beginning of backswing along with hip high backswing to hip high follow through. Trying to stay down during swing, keep head in relatively same spot, and DON'T RAISE UP DURING IMPACT OR RIGHT AFTER.

( Righty) Start downswing by planting the left heel firmly on the ground with the weight moving onto it. Hit against a firm left side. This will also tend to increase shaft lean at impact..

Instead of golf today, I have the opportunity to be part of and hour swing clinic led by Martin Chuck (Tour Striker). I’m looking forward to seeing what he has us work on.

Been checking the weather all week for a place I am staying at about an hour from home. Weather was good. Was gonna get out early, go to the practice greens and putt. Pulled up and parked, and the bottom fell out. Rained and the plans were done for the day.

Was out with a younger friend this morning, and gave him something to chew on. He asked how is it I can move the ball either way without him seeing any change in my swing. I said "Im not trying to hit a big hook or fade, because then you would see some obvious differences. I am merely asking the ball to move gently one direction or the other, like 3-7 yards. That can be done simply by moving BOTH hands either slightly stronger or weaker with the clubface square to the start line. You must keep the palms facing each other, none of that imbalanced strong right hand nonsense we see so much of. Rotate both hands stronger or weaker and the clubface will naturally open or close by itself on the downswing. Unless you are trying to hit a big fade, always hit it from the inside." He was moving it a bit by the end of the round. One thing that became obvious to me watching him try. You need a good repeatable in to out path for a finesse fade or draw to work....... We will get to the sim and he can work on path repetition.

Went to a local coach yesterday who has a pressure plate so i could check that. As expected, not great. He broke out those little yellow and orange force pedals and we worked with those for a few swings and quickly had the feel down pretty good, making better contact, compressing 8 iron nicely, better ball flight. Mover to driver to do the same. Ordered a pair to work with at home.

Practice Mental game. Trying not to overthink
Too many swing thoughts in my head.
I be journaling any golf thoughts. Avoid watching golf on tv or reading about golf. Avoid buying too much golf equipment
When playing golf trying to remember that the time playing golf is only about one hour the rest of the 2-3 hours should be enjoying the walk and getting my mind off golf.

Your weight goes down into your shoes on the return swing, not up from your shoes so I'm told.

Best day of the year, a scale of justice day, when the weather breaks and one side says go play, the other side says stay home and get your lawn, garden, and irrigation systems ready. Hmmm. In all my years of playing the other side lost. Going to let my hands tip the scale and get a little sniff of the dirt today while using the original St. Andrews grip. Hit 'em well boys!

Yeah, for me it is the raising up out of my "posture". Not a clean, total follow through. I've always heard, "If you wanna see a bad shot, look up."

Why is it so hard to stop arm run off in the backswing and swing from the inside? Work in progress.

It's windy 25 gusting to 40. Need to keep the ball down. I was practicing punching little 150 yard hybrids under the wind, into the teeth of it. Last set all 6 balls were within 8' of each other. But I ran into a bit of a delay... it's just south of me. I have a great view of it but no rain. I'm not standing out in the field though.
