What Are You Working On?

Adapting to multifical contact lens
I find I aim better control with my putter when I aim with the toe edge for shorter putts

My driver swing Loading up on my back leg and pivoting off my front foot Allow me to hit through the ball

Playing a lot of tennis and baseball and it’s so important to load up on the back /outside leg to generate power. I sometimes overdo it and my timing is off and don’t unload properly to my front /inside and lose power.
Better to have train proper sequencing and learn to pivot into my front side first before attempting full load to my back leg /hips

Practice "Made the putt in your mind" especially under 5 feet
a mental golf technique where a player visually makes the putt and sees the ball go into the hole before even taking their stroke.

Right now my priorities have changed and I'm working on eliminating the shank that has appeared on my wedges. Thought I had sorted it - but it wasn't great today at the range.

Getting through it. This year the dreaded flip was killing me with all around. Also working on a bigger backswing. I noticed it was getting short. A bigger backswing actually smooths out my swing and helps me get through it without thinking about it.

getting left hand pain
using too much left wrist
preset up with internal rotation of the left arm and pronation of the left forearm
This keeps my left hand hold on the strong side

The last couple of rounds I have been falling into letting the ball creep forward in my stance with the irons. Not horrible shots, but not terribly crisp either.

Hands low during backswing and through contact. Low shaft entry and exit.

I need to combine this with keeping the clubhead outside on the backswing and right palm aiming down. Swing with hands down and to the swing left.

Keeps the clubhead path closer to 0 and leads to draws and can possibly avoid hooks. Maybe slight blocks if hands get high. Too high and it leads to having to time hands perfectly.

Tough stuff. Grinding for the next month.

Took my impact bag and driver to work, just trying to work on getting the clubhead to the ball before my hands.

Too much dragging the handle through the swing!

I'm trying to get used to a new grip that was suggested by my Golftec coach. I know you shouldn't pay attention to results at the beginning, but they weren't pretty.

40-90 yard partial wedges is a big focus right now.

I was watchng a video yesterday where the instructor was talking about how grip changes feel awkward and uncomfortable.... because they are supposed to. You are so used to the old way, that of course it will feel foreign. Just keep working on the the grip, the results probably won't be good, but it takes time to change it,

Kee it up!

Shallowing downswing.
Shortening backswing.
Hands low and left wrist bowed.

It seems to be working well on wedges and irons. Driver is tough.

One step backward, then two forward after lessons. Going from a baseball grip to an overlap felt wrong for a while when I switched years ago.

i am working on moving the ball both ways. Getting comfortable on the range to bring it to the course

I've tried that a few times, but never committed to it. I always left the club face way open.

Lesson today, and was reassured that the things I thought was wrong (and also that I had started working on), were correct.

Impact position. Yes. Keep on working with the impact bag.

New things to work on, specifically with driver.
-Get closer to the ball. Stop swaying in the back swing, it stops me from getting back to where I should be.
-Work on getting a lower AoA, and reducing my launch, mainly with better positioning. In part this will help me get more centered contact on the face.

Keep working. I am faster on clubhead speed than where I was a year ago, but the issue holding me back right now is too much toe/low contact, and open/closed face.
Lots to do, plenty of time before the season if I want to put the effort in.

Indoor session and sub consciously holding onto the release. Took ages to get my brain to relax and hit through the ball. Wedges were fine.

Positive AOA and more in to out path with driver. My stock shot with irons-3w is a draw but the longer the shaft gets the more trouble I have getting in to out. Hit a draw most of the summer then about a month ago started overcooking everything to far left. In the process of fixing that I went way too far the other direction. 😫. Now -3 to -4 with an open face and spinning everything weakly to the right.

Putting putting putting. Found that my tendency is to take putter head back to the outside. Has proven to be a tuff habit or flaw to fix.

2 items i work on the most are putting and short game.
Then its contact location with irons.
Then Woods
