What club did you keep too long?
20* Adams red hybrid. Hit some good ones with it, but hit a lot more bad ones.
Nike Vr Pro 3 wood. Tried to figure that thing out a hundred different ways and couldn't hit it. Finally had it one round and told my stepdad it was going in the trash. He asked to let him hit it and proceeded to drill a 240 yard bullet on the green in two on a par 5. That was probably 4 or 5 years ago and it's still in his bag.

I don’t think I’ve been there yet, and I don’t really expect to. I’m used to trying things and if they don’t work, I keep searching until I find what does. I think I learned this from hockey sticks where there wasn’t really the opportunity to test or get fit before buying.
That said, I still have the Northwestern putter I bought when I was in grade school for sentimental reasons. It doesn’t get bag time, but I take a few strokes on the practice putting mat from time to time.
