Pine 39 Lake 39 - 78
Seemed a whole lot like last Saturday, in that I generally messed up the same holes and even some of the same shots, and finished with the same total. Still, I hit 11 greens and played the par 3's well and the 5's ok but for a drive into the lake, just played the 10 par 4's in +6. So I have an idea where to look for improvement. And maybe look for a bit of better luck; I hit into one greenside trap and my ball burrowed under the rake that was left IN the trap (a pet peeve), so I had a really bad downhill semi-buried lie that turned a relatively easy out into a near impossible out. And later I drove left but long on a par 4 , and had 130 to the pin that I had to keep low under some limbs - I hit a beautiful punch 6 iron, low and hot, that hit the little 6" x 10" CARTS --> sign on the fly 45 yards from the green - so my shot that was going to be front fringe at worst for easy par, and possibly in decent birdie range, instead was killed by the sign and kicked over into a rooty area and double bogey ensued. I know - rub of the green - but it sure rubbed me the wrong way...
