What did you shoot today?

Good job Smalls, I should have come out.

I ended up playing Shirkeys this afternoon, 100. Couldn't sink a putt, just kept burning the right edge. I'm starting to think it's an alignment issue.

Way to swing Tex!:good:

Shot 78 today.

42 on the front and really struggled with my wedge play. The niblick holed out again for me on this to save par at one point that could have been a big number.

36 on the back with an eagle. Holed out from about 70 yards on a par 5. Putted lights out on the back as well. We beat the rain by teeing off at 7:15, but barely.

Do you play every single day? Good round regardless!

No, about 3 times a week. But this week it has been 4 times.

Good round today!! I am getting pretty decent When I started postin on THP in January I was a 110 to 100 player and now I am mad being over 94! Today I had an Awsome round! 85 43front double #1 then go Birdie#2 birdie #3 to get back to even and end up going straight back to 2 over on #4 :confused2: anyhow I was striking the ball well and my wedges weren't letting me down either. The club I have to thank the most is my putter as the Birdie on #2 was quite lengthy estimation is 30ft over a hill and breaking a little right! then continued with a 42 back nine!! I am very pleased with myself and my progress since January!!!

Awesome Tex. Glad to hear it.

Shot a 47 on the front at Falcon Lakes. Hit 5 of 7 fairways, yanking one way left. Jacqui shot a 50 hitting 6 of 7 fairways (she does this often). Played the front nine in 90 minutes, but we flew through the front until we got to 7 tee (we had to wait for them to clear), on 8 we had to wait for them to get on the green and putt (par 3) and on 9 we had to wait for them to tee off. We played the first 7 in an hour, the last two in 30 minutes.

We played #10 because that's Jacqui's favorite hole, I missed the fairway and took a 5, she hit the fairway and got her par 4.Then we came back around and drove up the road to see what 12 tee looked like and it was backed up, so we drove to 15, (a par 3), thinking we might hop on there and play the last 4 holes. we both bogeyed it and saw it was backed up the rest of the way in, so we just went back to the clubhouse (no one was waiting to tee off on 15 when we drove back by the tee). (We played so quick the first part that playing "on pace" was just too slow, especially since it was starting to get hot that we decided that was enough). As we got to the clubhouse, the group behind us at the start was just heading out to #10.

My sand play is getting better, I was in it twice today and got out decently both times (took two putts both times, but hey, I got out in one shot and on the green!). Sunk one long (over 6 steps, about 14 or 15 feet) putt for a par today, otherwise, putting was average at best (had two three putts in 11 holes). But I'm hitting fairways.

Awesome smalls. So glad that you are enjoying yourself again. Getting out of the bunker is the first step.

The last two days I didn't say bad words upon landing in them or, as happened once today, finding out I was in one when I got up to the ball. I have always hated sand, as I never practiced it.

Played with Tex Ags and shot 78(37/41) (12 pars 6 bogeys) couldnt find a birdie all day but played real solid golf gitting many gir's. putter was going well too didnt miss a par putt withing 10 feet. very happy with the round just wish would have found a few birdies in the round.

88 for me'
Day started out real bad .Hit my driver in the woods on the first hole took a double. hit my driver in the woods on the second hole 5 over at this point (both hook shots) Told my friends I never hook. Heard one say you do now.
Somewhere I read if you are not hitting your driver good then you can use your three wood:act-up: Things started looking up. birded the two par 5's.Anyway get on the back nine what do I do pull out the driver hook in a yard .Whew this games tough you have a lot to remember. So I go back to my three wood, Love this game ps it sure was hot in the woods today

Not sure if you are just taking a guess at your handicap, but I'm pretty sure its lower than a 14 :D

Wow TexAg Good for you It's taken me almost 4 years to get to almost the same point you are now in just 7 months, I'm doing pretty good seeing my game is just from my upper body LOL.

My Home course has no sand traps Mike glad to see the game is coming back for you, :banana:I'm rootin for ya.

Working Swing Shift so got in a Round at the Newly renovated RTJ-Highlands Course.

I went from my worst round of the year last week (98) to my second best this year of an 81

Looking at the stats on OOBGOLF, I am beginning to see a pattern.
It seems that my 2 lowest scores have the highest GIR's as well as the highest putts...(expected when you have more GIR's)
I quit trying to go after the pins and just go "Center mass".
I also played smarter..Add 5 yards on front pins and subtract 3-4 on back pins...
Also eliminating blow up holes helps....

I can attribute a lot of this to Amollerud's help.. He looked at my swing and said I need a better 1 piece takeaway....Voila....Consistency improved and balls started straightening out....

p.s. see sig for changes coming... :act-up:

77 for the day with a 39 on the front and a 38 on the back. The best part (worst) was that I had 4 3 putts including one inside of 12 feet. With all the rain we have had it was cart path only, but it really did not affect my game too much. Except on the green where one green would be fast and then the next slow. Impossible to judge speed at all.

Last night I was playing in a local drinking league at Pelican Bay here in Daytona. Playing the front nine, I made 3 birdies, shot 34 and won $74 in skins. Woo Hoo!

Ever had one of those days where almost every drive found the fairway, every other shot obeyed everything you asked it to do and the putts "seemed" like they were falling and you look at your score and you only shot a 79...............?:at-wits-end:

Just one of those days I guess, at least I was striking the ball well and since we tee'd off at 0600 we were through before the 100+ heat WITH humidity kicked in completely.....

My Home course has no sand traps

No bunkers at all? I just assumed that all courses had them - that it was mandated in the big book of golf course design. Do they have more of other hazards? Is the course rated?
