What did you shoot today?

56/49 - 105. Worst score in nearly three years. Disappointing on the one hand in that my short game - 100 yds in - wss a huge liability instead of my strength. Had three water balls total, and 17 putts on the back where I just missed three that could have dropped including a 50-footer on 18 that left me a tap-in. Best news was that I figured out my stance was too wide, limiting my turn and distance. It’s not happening every time, but it was nice to have a 271 yard drive and 180 yard 7-iron, both validated by rangefinder. So I am probably not moving up a tee box. Lots of unforced errors, range time definitely needed, but some good stuff to build on.

I shot a 94 yesterday but it could easily have been 90.
I had 2 blow up holes which really screwed up the scorecard. taking a 9(8 esc) on a 5 with 2 OB and 1 triple that took a bad hop and went OB.

Scores don't reflect it yet but I am starting to hit it better.

Best round since shoulder injury last June.
83 and actual hit my irons decent. 32 putts ( one 3 putt ) and 2 penalty strokes, one led to a triple bogey, for unplayable lies under cactus just out of play.
Parred my nemesis hole, which was a change from the last 5 rounds.

91 today, from the Blues. Pulled my hamstring 2 weeks ago, so really worked on quieting my lower body the past few practice sessions. It really helped with my balance and keeping my weight where it needed to be. Finally started putting a little bit of lower body into my swings today. Loved it. I have no business at this point playing anything longer than the whites on any course. The main culprit to my bad score were the longer 180+ par 3's over water.

Resolved myself to playing whites until I can consistently break 85. And my putting game SUCKS !!!! Gotta work on that. Hit 10 of 14 fairways, and 12 of 18 greens. Chipping and pitching have improved, but I gotta cut down on my puts. I putted exactly 34 times today, which is horrible.

Two under that began with a double on the par 3 second and a 3 putt bogey on the 3rd hole. I played really well after the 6th hole and birdied the last four holes including a 45 footer on the 17th.

Today is the first day of a two day event at my club. It didn’t start off very well. Went double/triple. I am very impressed I was able to get in together and not let it snowball down hill mentally. I managed to shoot 1 over for the remaining holes. So I shot a 41-37-78. I’m in the middle of the pack but it could have been really really bad. And the best part is we played 18 tournament holes in 3 hours. This is just insane since it normally takes 4.5 hours minimum normally.

Pretty forgettable 42/42-84 today. It doesn’t show on the card because I was often just off the fairway, but I drove the ball so well again. Third straight round my playing partners have complemented the driver. Took a penalty because I clubbed down and hit a 3 wood 275 into a creek, but it was my first time on the course so it happens. Irons were not great and chipping needs to be better. Feel on the greens was pretty poor, but I started making putts on the back nine. Had one birdie, but should have been two or three.

Another character building day. My confidence has in any recent memory not been lower…. 82 today with times where I felt like I had no idea where the ball might go. Tbh, i nearly quit after 9, but I figured I’d try and hang in there. The few nice swing I made left me short sided to the hole. Some more poor driving and multiple missed shorties. My on course focus has been exceptionally poor. Need to work on my pre-shot and my short game. For a hot second the concept of quitting golf actually crossed my mind. Fun times. That won’t happen though. I’ll sort it out.

Today started off as a real struggle. Only 1 fairway and GIR on the front 9 with 2 penalties as well for a 47. Back 9 there was some improvement 1 birdie, 3 fairways, 6 GIR and only 1 penalty for a 42 totaling 89. Driver missed right all day. Think I hit too many practice balls before the round. Overall happy to stay under 90.

The stars aligned today. Played a course called Viewpoint in Mesa today. 6200 yards from the Tips. Front nine was a 2 over 37 and back nine was a 3 over 39 for a 76. 2 birdies and I can't remember a round where I hit my irons much better. Shot of the day was on a par 5. Drive was just right of the fairway and I had 235 left to the hole. Couldn't hit my hybrid due to a tree just off right and my hybrid is a draw club. Pulled 4 iron instead and put it on the green 10 left of the hole. Just missed the eagle putt. Slightly wind aided but I don't think I have ever hit a 4 iron 235 yards. Great day.

40/40=80 9FIR 8GIR and 32 putts. I need to work on my approach shots, the 8 greens hit resulted in 6 pars and 2 birdies.

A very, very disappointing 83 with one OB (snap hook on a wooded par 3) and only one birdie. Hitting driver well but could not flight or place my irons. Frustrating, especially after a stellar practice session last night with my 7-iron.

Finally, after a solid drive into the middle of the fairway on 18, my son says "Dad, did you know you've had the ball WAY back in your stance on every iron shot today?" THANKS for telling me on the last hole! So, made sure the ball was in proper position and striped a 6-iron to the back edge of an uphill green.

This game. Can't wait until tomorrow!

42/43 in Day 1 of a tournament. Tripled #18...hitting 3rd shot (par 5) from less than 90 yards out. Whoops. Looking forward to Day 2. Need to get the putter going.

42/46 for an 88 on my home course. 20-25 mph winds again today. Started off well enough, birdie on the first hole and I was +2 after 6 holes. Then the wind really kicked up, my game went away, and it was downhill from there. Looking forward to Monday, hope it's a little calmer and I get a chance to redeem myself.

Went to a local resort course for the first time yesterday. Much nicer than what I expected. Played 6500 yards with a lot of elevation changes. Shot a 79 with most lost shots coming from approach play with irons. Did miss quite a few birdie putts too. All in all, I’m happy. I’ll play the back tees next time to see how I fair.

+4/+4 with 2 birdies for an 80

28 putts may be a new PB (if putts from off the green don't count to that stat)

I had 2 flagstick hits.. first was nearly a dunk and 2nd saved me from a much longer putt.

3 over today and putted like crap. Hit 15 greens.

An awful 92....just couldn’t put together consecutive good shots.
