What did you shoot today?

A very poor 79. Started off well on the front with 37, and just a mix of bad swings and bad breaks on the back 9 and shot a terrible 42. Need to start wearing spikes for morning rounds as I slipped 3 different times today and they cost me every time.

37-39 76 today. Played pretty well for a change, could have been lower if not for poor club selection on a couple par 5's. and a birdie that was half way in the hole and popped out.

Played a quick 9 this morning. +1 for 9 holes. 6/9 GIR. No three putts! Two birdies, one bogey, and a double on my nemesis hole. Played with a nice guy with is a retired ski patrol. We know some people in common. He's very good player. Nothing fancy, just solid and steady. Love how he plays. Splits his year between Bozeman and Arizona. I had a lot of fun.

Still a lot of smoke.

41/41 for an 82. My putting saved me today, 29 putts. Hit 2/12 FW, but almost all of the misses were "good" misses - only by a few feet and/or into decent lies that didn't hurt me. 7/18 GIR. 2 birdies, 7 pars, 6 bogeys and 3 doubles.

43/42=85. Struggles with putting, part of which is play 11 stimp one round and 8 stimp next round. Three 3 putts and several 2 putts that should have been 1 putt. Also suddenly hitting a fade instead of the usual baby draw, which frequently left an awkward shot to the green.

Up in VT and our local Mtn resort has (3) 9 hole courses. Played the Forest and Lake course this evening. 41/43. Blew it in the last hole both times. New Hybrid shaft is awesome. It’s like a whole new club. Also so fun to walk tonight. Nobody was out. 1E53F6AE-BD56-4102-BEB1-0721A8F8E5FD.jpegE314C916-4717-4A09-979D-52C459F6378E.jpeg30D42C27-28DD-4B4F-8491-5675F32AF313.jpeg80AF425F-E9AB-4905-A421-9539DB3BC85F.jpeg

39-41--80. Very good day with the driver/Velocity shaft and made some clutch putts early with the Evnroll ER2B that I put in from off the bench. The front-nine 39 included a double-bogey on 3, thanks to a yanked drive that went OB left. Immediately followed that with back-to-back birdies on 4 (a 202-yard par 3) and 5 (a short, downhill par 4 across water), so I was proud of the bounce-back.

Actually played just as well on the back but didn't score as well due to two lazy, sloppy 3-putts and a missed 4-footer. I have been struggling with maintaining full mental focus in this heat and humidity, and just seem to zone out late in the back nine, especially on the greens. I carry a large Yeti and continuously drink lots of fluids but, apparently, need to add some food/healthy snacks to the mix, too.

Real slow start and iron play was fairly hot trash throughout. Greens are healing there now, but are shaggy, and inconsistent. Couple putts pulled offline by machine lines before they could really get started and others just really hard to judge how they'd react. Put the new Riptide in play and it was mostly good despite a wonky body. Made the big eagle on 11 with a driver->4i to 5 inches and that got me going a bit. Still had a few bad misses but started doing better.

Weather was decent and we met some nice people. Would do it again. :)

Ran out and did a little 4 club 9 this morning with a friend. Went really well outside of one part of one hole. lol Ended up with 39 and we had some fun and the course mostly to ourselves. Made me wish we brought more clubs.

Love doing that at night with three clubs -- usually whichever ones need some more work or testing. (y)

37/42 79 yesterday

I was even through 11 and we caught some elderly couples that didn't let us play through

happy with most of the round. 2 nice birdies

Made the big eagle on 11 with a driver->4i
This is the most amazing part of this incredible post - that you can cover 575 yds with driver/4 iron. For me to cover 575 yds it takes driver/3 wood/4 iron. My question for you - why aren’t you on a Pro golf tour somewhere?

Well it didn't play 575 yesterday, first. Pin was front right. There a slightly elevated tee too and I got a good draw that probably ran a bit. Can't see it in the moment because the corner is blocked out by a little tree and mound I went over.

And then had to hit a pretty good 4i to just cover the front edge, bounce left a bit and finish at 5" for the kick in eagle. I do, despite appearances, have an entire life outside of golf. Career, marriage, groups and pursuits, etc, and I'm OLD.

An ugly 86 on Tuesday.
Two 3 putts, as well as a triple and 2 doubles on the card.
I did hit every fairway, though! LOL

41-40 for a tying PB. Front 9 was also a PB as the front is Par 37. Gave up the goose on 17 a short par 3 that I double bogey. Had a shot at birdie on 18 and just like the previous 6 birdie putts I missed. My game was pretty good today just one bad swing on 17 where I tipped my chip. Not one birdie entire round.

Heck of a day. Even though I hit a lot of fairways distance was off with the driver. Putting the Callaway back in the bag until I can get a 60g 6.5 in the RDX Blue, which should be in the next week or so and then XB is back in the bag. I could really feel the shaft flex today. I think the 6.5 will fix the issue I saw today though. I am going to hit my goal this year of getting to a 7 HC! Get to play tomorrow to see how the Max LS does since I’ve been in a groove. First time ever playing this course. The cart had satellite radio, tv and gps. Was pretty cool!8C6CF0F6-2A82-42A8-BCFC-80492A275ED6.pngD6538825-36D0-4841-8E59-E2D08F335843.jpeg277FA6F9-B42B-4AB7-9152-755FCB7AC459.jpeg85BD1A10-4692-4B22-9408-F51BFCA93C16.jpeg

My son and I played 9 holes tonight. 40 for me and 56 for him. His first hole he made par with a great 15’ putt. Fun night for both of us. 0DA8FB6B-C91F-4D81-A9A0-5716589EB265.jpegA774CBC8-6E3B-47E8-9D2A-2E6D540D7EFC.jpeg5B9F02F0-0DD8-4D70-8D23-6351AFF11AA6.jpeg

35 - 39 - 74. Light rain kept starting up and stopping so probably played in it about half of the holes. Was starting to pick up when I got to 17 so was glad I was in the home stretch. 2 birdies, 12 pars and 4 bogeys.

82 at Oakland Hills today. Definitely did not have my best stuff but man is that a tough course. Missed shots there are just penalized in a big way. Biggest and deepest greenside bunkers I’ve ever seen. Greens were lightning fast, firm, and crazy slopes. Would definitely score better there next time having seen the course but it’s a monster. Hope they get a US Open now.

Round 2 of vacation….. couldn’t have played worse unless a club would have been lost. I hit my driver ok but no where with any consistency. It went left, right, and almost never in the center. My usually solid wood drives were just terrible. My iron work was either long or short, never could get a range on distance. My short game was awful. My putting wasn’t bad but it could have been better. I played with the father in law and we usually have a great time. It was nice to play again but very disappointing considering how well I played at the end on Tuesday.

Played like hot garbage for most holes. Although I did eagle a par 4 that I haven’t sniffed before. Drive to 8’ and drained the putt. That made my day.

We had our last night of team league tonight and I shot a 37 (par 35). I'm pretty dang happy with that considering I hadn't touched a club in two weeks.
