What did you shoot today?

50/44-94.

Man it was just an off day. Best shots of the day were my 1st tee shot and my last putt. Opening drive was a nice, on-a-rope, 258yrd shot leaving me 103 to the pin. Last shot of the day (to save par) was a 44ft, uphill, HARD left to right putt that found the middle of the cup. Despite what was an otherwise frustrating day, there's always something positive to take away.

Not great. Not bad either except for 7 which we just all over the place.

42/37 for a 79 this morning. Nothing worse than a bogey, so I felt good that I kept the ball in front of me and minimized the damage. 11/14 FW, 8/18 GIR, 34 putts.

Shot my best round of the year so far - on a new course to me.

Started with a double, and played the 10th mainly up the 16th fairway which ran parallel until I could cross back over the high trees after a wayward tee shot. But in between and after those I had a pretty good time. Apex irons and Opus wedges were on fire, and my driver played a strong part as well. This was off the competition tees as well - a first for me (my playing partner has a comp on the course at the weekend and was doing a recce for that).

43/43 = 86 (+17)
11/13 FIR
8/18 GIR
1 Birdie, 3 Pars, 11 Bogeys, 2 Doubles and a Triple

40 putts was the shocker. Partially expected with a relatively high GIR number (for me!) meaning that whilst I was on the greens way more than usual I was often only on a distant edge and the greenskeeper chose violence with many of the pin locations tucked right on different edge - front, left or back of the green. Had I worked out the greens before the 12th and putted to my normal standards we'd have been looking at an 81 maybe an 80.

84...Three 3 putts with birdie op's and a double.
Put a putter in I haven't used in a while. Ball come's off the face faster than my gamer. Great roll though.
Headed to the practice green later to get the feel.
Back to a blade from mallet with toe hang.

Shot 84 in a 2 club wind yesterday with 2 big blow ups. I was pretty happy.

41 tonight with two 7’s and an eagle lol

Played Hilo Municipal Golf Course today. A regular foursome asked me to join them (apparently having a five some wasn't an issue with the course :ROFLMAO:). I would have been a single sandwiched in between them and a huge group (several tee times) that was in front of us. I was grateful to have the locals to help me with the course layout and the company was pretty good!
Ended up shooting 48/43 for a 91. I started off well, but a couple of back to back double bogeys on the front did me in. I did manage to salvage two birdies on the day so I have that going for me

Early morning pre-work 9 holes with the "fun older crew" was up and down but landed at a +5 40.......not too bad as the back nine that we played has my HCP at a +7. Tee shot on 12-14 sucked and that is where I dropped strokes.....get things back on track on 15-17 and birdied 18 with a smoke show of a 3 iron off the tee and a 85yd wedge to 4 feet.......so ended on a high note.....

37/42/79 - 8.9 differential so just about my handicap. A very windy day with a steady 25-30 mph and some really high gusts in the range of 35-40mph. It got windier as the day went on and my score shows how hard it got to hit greens. I played well.

+3 with a silly double on the last hole. I’m super pleased that my golf specific stretching and core exercises have returned some ball speed that has been missing for a few years. I was pin high and on the green on the 312 yard 16th hole today with only a small breeze helping. It’s been at least two years since I’ve done that without a big window at my back.

A 50 at my 9 hole league today. It’s almost hard to understand how I played really well off the tee and scored so bad. Once I resolve my putter Thursday at my fitting I will be setting up lessons. The mental game is fine. I’m putting the ball in good places. The shots I hit in summer and fall last year aren’t clicking. I know being out for injury from Sept to Feb would be a set back but the game is absolute jekyll and Hyde. Better days ahead…..

40+43 = 83. We were the second group off and only had to wait on one or two shots the whole round, finished in 3:13. I didn't have my best stuff in any aspect of my game and was slapping the ball around a bit, but managed to hold it together and eke a halfway decent round out of it. 9/14 FW, 7/18 GIR, 33 putts.

PB today of all time, with another pb of 8 birdies. Yippee!!

65 (-7)
10/14 FW
13/18 GIR
25 putts

How's the VOG?

Snuck in a long lunch break 9 and shot a 47 that should have been low 40s 🤮

Started a little bumpy with double, bogey, bogey, double but then rattled off three straight pars and two that threatened birdie. Hole 8 was like I forgot how to swing and everything that could go wrong did. Yanked a drive but had a decent punch out. Punch out clipped a branch and got knocked down. Ensuing chip chunked. Chip following that bladed over the green. Wedge uphill to the green off the toe and didn't make it up the hill. Finally got up, barely, then a three putt 9. Brutal. Managed to regroup enough to finish with a bogey, but man it was frustrating.

40/40 = 80
35 putts...... Burning the edges again.
Parred 3 of my nemisis holes, but had 2 doubles on the card as well and no birdies.
Doubled a par 3 when I hit a sprinkler head on the collar and bounced 65yrds over the back of the green :ROFLMAO: 🤷‍♂️

Shot 46 walking a twilight 9 that took 2:20 to play 🤬 Usually twilight rounds after leagues are a little slow but this was ridiculous. It wasn’t aided by being hit into twice by the teens behind us, one time was when we were on the green on a par 3! We had a few words with them.

2 pars and 3 doubles. At least my putting was consistent - 2 putts on every single hole.

How's the VOG?
Actually not too bad lately. Episode 18 ended last Tuesday and Episode 19 is imminent. I expect the VOG to pick up over the next few days. Certainly worse up near the steam vents. I may go play the Volcano Golf Course this weekend and we'll see how the VOG is then :ROFLMAO:

Got out for 9 this evening. Shot 43. Not great, but I'm not unhappy with it. Also my second round in a row with a birdie, which has never happened before. Pretty stoked on that.

76 with an OB ball and 4.......yes FOUR 3 putts.
14/18 greens

Really strong day. Just terribly slow greens and i just could t adjust to them at all.

I’m super pleased that my golf specific stretching and core exercises have returned some ball speed...

After a winter of Fit For Golf workouts, I was asked today if I'm hitting the ball farther as it looks like I'm swinging faster. Yep!
