What did you shoot today?

Due to the single we were paired with and my dad feeling a bit sore from yesterdays round we played the forward tees. Which presented some interesting club decisions from the way I normally play this course. It also introduced me to the dumbest tee box location I’ve ever seen. Sadly I forgot to take a picture but looking at GPS we can see this

Even this doesn’t show how much of a pain that tree that is 100 yards out is. When I play this from the white, I’ve come close to getting it on in 2 before. This tree basically made me hit a nine iron of the tee and then two shots in. I was absolutely fuming because of poor course design for a few holes.

Yesterday I shot 83. I was a 38 on the front and I just could not get some putts to drop on the back 9. Today’s round was 76 with 3 birds on the back 9.

45/50. Played well off the tee but I've lost all feel for chipping and putting. It's dire lol. But had a few very good shots punished and some stinkers rewarded so it is what it is. Definitely played overall better than yesterday but scorecard largely the same.

Only had time for 9. A group of 4 slow playing 80 years olds weren't going to allow for time to finish. I finally got to level par on 9 holes. Drained a 13 pace putt on hole 9 for birdie. Very satisfying to know I have kinda fixed a fatal flaw in my game

Played our year end Tuesday Men’s League “Bash” today. Was fortunate to play with 3 really great guys in a scramble format, red, white, and blue. Our league plays legit scrambles. Have to use each teammates drive once per nine. We shot -7 and took 5th and won a few hole prizes. Very proud of the guys that we played with, especially Eric our 79 year old Vietnam vet. He hit 3 key tee shots when needed, led off putting and gave us amazing reads (except for the 3 putts he drained for birdie) and then hit a key 15 yard chip on our 17th hole from jail, to give us a tap in birdie. I hope I can still play golf at 79! Such a fun day.

38/45 83 yesterday. It was... a roller coaster. Birdie the first, par two where I'm fine with a bogey. Tee shot on three ends up in a hard pan washout where I'm having to bring a gap wedge straight up and straight down just to advance my second shot on a par 5, make bogey. Flag my approach on four, miss birdie putt. Flag my approach on par 3 fifth, miss difficult downhill slider, but make the come back putt. Eagle the par five sixth. I'm now two under heading to seven, a dog leg left. My tee ball fades and goes through the fairway into the trees. I have an opening to the back right of the green, leave it in the rough nearly pin high. Chip checks like mad, leading to a two putt bogey. I have made my quota for the front nine for my points game, 15 points... I only made 10 more points through the next 11 holes.

Sunday was interesting. I had a case of the left pulls on the front that really messed things up.

But starting birdie, birdie on the back helped. It was a replica hole course, and #10 is the island green from TPC Sawgrass 17th and #11 is Augusta 13th so going red on those holes was awesome.

Then today Henry had off school so we made a run over to a course reputed to be one of the best pub-links courses anywhere. What a great track, wow!

He had me by one at the turn, but I put on the afterburners on the back and reminded him this old man isn't ready to give up the crown quite yet.

And Henry played his best golf to date.
2 birdies and 2 doubles. Only 31 putts.

My last 72 holes, I have average 4.56 strokes per hole. (82) Best score was an 80 where my putting was not very good. These were all from the senior tees.

I wouldve had a 5th round, but on my way back home from a short road trip, both Emerald Greens, and the Mojave GCs were closed for over seeding.

Just playing consistent golf with my normal bag set up. These were rounds 50-53 for the year. Still nothing over 89 for the year. Might get 12+ more rounds in before New Years.

38/39
7 bogeys
1 double
4 🐥

Wind was terrible but some good stuff happened.

@lambeau those are great scores! I love both courses. Especially Washington County. It’s a gem!

I was lucky enough to be invited to play Ozaukee Country Club today! It was such an interesting track. Every hole is a dogleg with tons of mature trees. Was fortunate to shoot 41-41 (par 70).

Best round in as long as I can remember. 3 birdies, two bogies - 71. Got a little tense on 18. Was two under going into 18. Hooked my tee shot into the trees and had to chip out. Made a nice recovery and two putted for bogie. Made 4 long putts with the Phantom 9.2R in its maiden voyage. I honestly don’t remember my last sub par round. Had to be 20 years ago…

36/36 - 72

And more important, it was in 1 hour and 23 minutes.

45/41 - 86

Which is the best round outside of Ballyhack in a long damn while! I left every putt short on the first 7 holes. Then on 8, sank a 40ft birdie putt and things started to click from there. Didn't hit too many fairways, but more GIR than in a while. 3 penalties.

this morning was the first frost delay of the season.
i love fall golf, except for that part.

61% GIR and 39 Putts. Seriously, what the crap. 4x three-jacks. if I just putt to my average (33.5) that's a 77. if I'd putted well, it could've been special.

Arghhhh.

I love ShotScope data and how it highlights what went well and what didn't. This round was SO much better than my recent play.
