What did you shoot today?

Played a really fun course here outside of Fort Myers called Old Corkscrew. For prime rates $59 for a 3:13pm tee times wasn’t bad at all. Course was in great condition and the layout was amazing. I played it from the blue tees at 6459yds. Putting was awful on the front and I had 3 three putts. Hit every fairway and ended up with a 44. The back was a different story where I rattled off 5 straight pars, bogey, par, bogey for a 38. Not bad for not swinging the clubs in a while. 11/14 fairways.
So... you're within 15 minutes of me and I don't get an invite to golf... I see how this works :ROFLMAO:

Seriously, though - Old Corkscrew is an awesome track

Yesterday was good, but today was better 🔥

45/40 = 85
Haven't played in 3 weeks due to overseeding and travel.
Today was beautiful and the course just gorgeous, albeit a little soggy (lot's of mud balls)
good company with random twosome after I bailed on the original pairing who, despite their age, were severely etiquette challenged.
Can't wait for things to dry up a little so I can get some roll in the fairways.

Driver was non existent and topped most of them which has never happened (blame the shoes or stiffness from the race) 45/44 89... Rough day but great walk

Had I known you were here I would have definitely had you join. Damnit!!!

Spent a long boys golf weekend in Branson, MO with 3 of my best friends. Played Pointe Royale, par 70 (45-36 = 81). Back nine was Bogey, Bogey, Birdie, then all pars, for 1 over par. Best 9 of the year.

Branson Hills (46-40=86), Ozark National (43-46=89). Finished at Thousand Hills, par 66 (42-45=87), got wild off the tee and had 8 penalties. Not sure what happened. It was a really fun course for being par 66. Still had a great time.

The wind was howling at Branson Hills and Ozark National, I feel that on a calm day both rounds would have been at least 6 strokes better. I hit the ball really well, but man did the wind mess with a few shots. At Ozark National, the wind was blowing putts offline by 2-3 inches.

Branson is definitely a great golf destination. I’ll post more in the traveling thread.

I know it but never played it. In March it's $120+ a round.

I didn’t expect you to know that I was down since I didn’t really post about it.

Would have loved to join, one of these years!

I'll post my bad too. Was sick last week into the weekend, and didn't touch a club for 8 days (again). This time it didn't go as well. May have set a course record for lost balls. Just could not keep it in play off the tee. Right to left miss which is not common with me. Really hacked it up.

38/39/77 yesterday at Huron Meadows. 8.7 differential. It was slow and near the end a huge black cloud mass was moving in. The wind picked up and the temps dropped. Did the slow foursome ahead pick up the pace a bit? Nope. They dawdled their way through the last couple holes and the skies opened up on #18. The only consolation was they all got soaked, too.

I shot a 77 today and had SIX birdies.

I ******* hate golf sometimes.

Shot 88 today at Prince William Golf Course in VA. Driver was on from hole 3 on. Irons were on all day. Chipping and sand game really good when needed. Putting was below average and round would have been better if I could putt. But still really happy with it and how easy it seemed. Not too often that I break 90.

Enjoyed the Karoo course at Cabot Citrus with @Browndog today.

We both shot 79, but his was WAY more interesting than mine :ROFLMAO:

If I could have the 16th and 17th holes back; first and second doubles of the day. Caught a back break with my drive on 16 and had to take an unplayable due to a weed growing in the waste bunker that somehow my ball was balancing on top of. 17 was a bump and run that didn’t quite make it over the top of the ridge and came back to my feet.

Regardless, I was very satisfied with how I played - thanks to the contours of the greens I got away with a couple of shots that I totally didn’t deserve the result, but that’s golf

You suck.

😄

I had 2 birdies and shot and 86 and looked like a beginner with 5 topped tee shots.

Played in a PGA HOPE graduation 9 hole scramble. Cold and windy but my team of 4 found a way to make 6 birdies and get the W.

42 f degrees at tee off. Course was a quagmire from lots of rain this week. Small tine aeration and top dressing for the greens recently. My game was not up to the challenge. 41/42/83. I should have shot 90+ but my short game saved a lot of bogies and pars.

Today's round was quite unexpected. Like many of you, we're reaching the end of the golfing season here, and the greens where I played are in bad shape, which is not unusual for this time of year. Approach shots were incredible today, and with the greens the way they are, they had to be. This led to a 5-under round that included an eagle.

My basic round stats were:
Score 66 (34/32)
FIR 100% (14/14)
GIR 78% (16/18)
Scrambling 100% (2/2)
1 Eagle / 3 Birdies / 14 Pars
Putts 30

Walked a quick nine and finished up in the dark. Shot (+5) 40 with 4/7 FIR & 5/9 GIR. Didn’t putt well (17 putts) but was a much needed, fun round with just me and the course (and two other guys on the same side of the course).

Was this the last day golfing my home course this season? Well, it was pretty dang nice out, so I went around a second time just in case.

Round 1 was a struggle off the tee with an out-to-in path that pushed everything right. That's an unusual miss for me so pretty frustrating.

41-44-85
29% FIR, 33% GIR
35 putts

Round 2 was so much better as I really focused on good takeaway to set up my path and then face awareness through the ball.

39-40-79
71% FIR, 44% GIR
31 putts

The data really show the difference in my driver swing. Straighter, longer, better.

Nice 2nd round!!!

My most fun round of 2025 even though I made some really f*%#ing dumb bogies including a 3 putt from 15 feet on the 2nd hole and being overly aggressive to a sucker pin on the last hole. It was the last of 5 rounds in the last 4 days as a guest of my buddy at Desert Mountain CC in Scottsdale AZ. It’s the best golf community I know of in the Western U.S. with 7 fantastic courses.

The 18 foot eagle putt finding the bottom of the hole on 17 was glorious as I didn’t have to par the 18th to go sub-70. I don’t remember the last time I played the par 3’s in 3 under par but it was certainly over 20 years ago if it ever happened. :)

Played 9 holes today at Skylinks GC in Long Beach. Started off with a triple bogey that I roped in for a +9, 45. And my new personal best for 9 holes!!! I am breaking 90 before 2025 is over. You can bet those coins on it 👊🏽

41/49 for a 90 today. It was my first full 18 back to walking for the Fall, and I was absolutely exhausted by the end of the round. Add to it that I'm fighting pulled muscles in my lower back and they started fatiguing and spasming on the back 9, and things went downhill fast from hole 10 on. I was +5 on the front with 5 pars, on the back I was +14 and didn't have a single par - 5 doubles and 4 bogeys. 7/14 FW, 5/18 GIR, 36 putts.

Haven’t posted in here in a little, because it’s been a bit rough lately. After playing the best golf of my life in the summer, and getting my cap into the 5s, the last month or so has just not been good. I had a stretch in the summer where I broke 80 five times in a row, w some low rounds in there. But going into yesterday, I’ve only broken 80 once in the last 8 rounds. And most of the other rounds have been in the mid to upper 80s. Shot 88 Monday, 86 Wednesday.
Having said that, I’ve had some really good range sessions, the last week or two but just haven’t been able to carry it over to the course.
So here’s how I start yesterday. Smoke a drive off 1, then proceed to cold shank a wedge for my second shot. Great way to start the match. I managed to calm myself and get up and down for par. Then it seems to come together and I make 7 more pars w a birdie mixed in to make the turn at -1. I think that’s the first time I’ve ever been under par after 9. I finished at a pb tying +2, 74 thanks to a thinned shot off some hard pan that didn’t carry the water on 15, and a failed up and down on 13 when I found some thick rough off the green.
Not going to lie, it was hard to stay relaxed knowing I was 1 under through 12. I’m generally a put my score in the ap and move to the next hole type. I generally know if it’s going well or not, but usually don’t get too caught up in what my score is until afterwards. But after being reminded by my partners that I was under par through 9, it was on my mind.
All in all, it was a much needed good day on the course.
