What did you shoot today?

41/42 = 83
Beautiful day, 1 birdie, a triple and a couple of doubles.
Couldn't make a putt outside 6ft, burned edges all day.
Slow playing group in front of us putting out every 1 foot putt, in order, with the flag in while the rest of the group stood and watched  (n):(🤷‍♂️

45/43. I was ready to walk off after starting the back +7 for the 1st 3 holes then I went birdie, bogey, 4 pars. Anyone else only good when they stop trying mentally? I have a bad habit of taking the game too serious and only score well when I “let go” and just play.

87. If wasn’t as bad as it felt but it could have been so much better. My back stiffened up around the 7th hole and I couldn’t complete my downswing without doing the DeChambeau spin out. But it’s golf in late October.

Side note, putting was good enough to get complimented by a rando that joined us on the back 9. I missed reading a ridge and put my ball on the right side of the hole that broke right early. I started the same putt half a hole lower after we finished out and it caught the left edge. It was “the only bad putt I hit”. I’ll take that compliment on my putting any day.

48+41=89 today. My best round of the year, so it was good to see progress.

That 48 included an 8 on the 8th hole.

Played the combos in the cold today, so up a little bit around 6,300.

Made 8 pars and an eagle on the 9th on the front 9.
Finished the back 9 with a far less impressive double lmao

Finished even. Not bad.

Left after 9 today with winds approaching 40, shot a 43. Need to clean up the doubles.

B game today at Sleepy Hollow. The greens are just nasty. Driver was pretty good with 50% fairways. Lost one ball to a wild banana. Handicap is intact because my course cap is 15 off the blue tees.

42/48=90 Par 72 at just under 5900 yards.

Front nine hit all the fairways off the tee, hit some greens and made some pars. Back nine, hit about 1/2 the fairways, hardly any greens and made a couple of 3 putts and no pars!

I did play the same ball the whole round though! :)

It's starting. 38/45 83. Front was 8 pars and a double. Three more doubles 13-15. My game knows a golf trip is coming...

Fairly disgusting 88 with poor ball striking amid bad weather - misty rain and windy all round.

39/38/77 9.7 differential. Short yardage in the 5,600 area. None of us felt like a 50 degree, windy day needed a big challenge. A good putting day made up for some lapses in the long game. I had just shot 83 and 84 earlier this week so this was a nice day for my ego.

38/43 played with 2 birds. Just was not feeling the tempo and could not find it.

Good front 9 with one birdie, 3 bogies.
Mediocre back 5 bogies and a double as my meds wore off about the 12th hole, took a little helper dose, but it didn't really kick in until 16.
Only 30 putts, 3 sand save, one for birdie.

42/43 for an 85 that felt like a 95. Was struggling all day to get off the bogey train. 9/14 FW, 4/18 GIR, 29 putts with one 3 putt.

I was laughing all day at the fact that I just ordered new wedges, so of course today my short game was on fire. I kept telling the guys my wedges were going "You ordered
new WHAT?!?"

Good score nonetheless

Final postable round before The Grandaddy. Will still be getting swings and work in during November, but can’t post scores beyond Friday. Overall felt pretty damn good with this round. Even drained a 22’ birdie putt.

3 rounds in the last week.... Less than stellar to say the least but we are getting back to it before the season ends.

Sleepy Hole Golf Course in Suffolk, Va: Gross 115 61/54 with 0% fairways, 0% greens, 0 pars & 6 penalties. Not a great round as ball striking was all over the place. Nothing even started on line really so just worked on trying to clena that up as we went.

Kiln Creek Golf Club in Newport News, Va: Gross 103 48/55 with 36% fairways, 0% greens, 2 pars & 1 penalty. Again not a great round honestly. Balls striking was streaky thru the bag and Driver was less than compliant but in play as this course is a bit more forgiving/wide.

Suffolk Golf Course in Suffolk, Va: Gross 103 51/52 with 29% fairways, 11% greens, 5 pars with 5 penalties. Ball striking was much better as I went down the bag but Driver was still the biggest issues causing all my penalties.

My takeaway from these round is still positive. Putting is better and more consistent with the recent grip change & as I began to get back comfortable the swing is slowly coming back from the bottom of the bag up. Driver need to be more in play and stay consistent with my swing instead of trying different things every time i approach a ball. No more 1 month between rounds as it really throws me off it seems haha.

37/38/75 - 7.4 differential. Surprisingly good score considering the conditions: 55 degrees, 15 mph breeze with gusts to 27 mph and greens aerated within the past 7 days (bumpy). If there was one factor that helped me, it was a mental decision that I wasn’t going to “beat” the wind. I just relaxed, swung with a good tempo and accepted that I wasn’t going to hit it far against the wind.

The scoring conditions were tough today. Gusting winds, cold, fairways were recently scored or punched, and the greens have not been aerated, making them hard and fast but with numerous blemishes that can deflect putts. I am quite pleased with the results. A 2-under 69 with 3 birdies, only one bogey, a 40-foot 1-putt, and some long drives and 17 GIRs, which is pretty sweet on such a windy day.

My basic round stats were:
Score 69 (35/34)
FIR 93% (13/14)
GIR 94% (17/18)
Scrambling 0% (0/1)
3 Birdies / 14 Pars / 1 Bogey
Putts 33

Shot a 46/46 yesterday. Man, a few putts drop my way and I'm celebrating breaking 90. It'll come.

My last 3 rounds have been average for me, averaging 84 per round.

My last round was kind of unique. I put together a bag Im thinking about using in 2026.

Driver through 11 wood. 7i through 9i. Pw through Lw. Also my #1 gamer putter.

The 11w needs some physical adjustment. It appears it was made for a golfer much taller than me. Its about 1.5 inches longer than the 9w. A shaft pull, and replacement shaft should do the trick. Right now both the 9w, and 11w are pretty much flying the ball the same distance.

Might play 18 tomorrow.

Just played 9. The course was stacked. 1 under 35 without my driver. Forget it at home. Doh!! Had to hit 3 wood off the tee. 1 bogey 2 birdies. 71.7 rating 132 slope 6409 yards.

Don’t you hate that? I once left my putter behind. More recently I traveled across country in July and rented clubs for a reunion event. They told me ahead of time that the set was missing a driver. They didn’t say it was also missing any fairway clubs. The longest club in this bag was a 4-hybrid, which I wore out on this 6,800 yard layout.

As a left-handed player I didn’t really have an option.
