What did you shoot today?

Don’t you hate that? I once left my putter behind. More recently I traveled across country in July and rented clubs for a reunion event. They told me ahead of time that the set was missing a driver. They didn’t say it was also missing any fairway clubs. The longest club in this bag was a 4-hybrid, which I wore out on this 6,800 yard layout.

As a left-handed player I didn’t really have an option.
It does suck. I live about 45 minutes from Pasatiempo GC. A few years ago, I found a really good rate at Pasatiempo for like $75 bucks when at the time it was normally about $250. I was in auto-pilot mode, drove all the way there, and realized I forgot my golf clubs when I got there. Doh!! 😅 My clubs were normally in my car, but I took them out for some reason. I was able to drive back, get them, and just make the tee time, but I played bad just because I was so rushed and no warm up. Pasatiempo is not a course you want to play without warming up and it wasn't as pleasant a round as I hoped. 😅

Chilly day with 45 degrees at tee off. Windy and cloudy. 40/38/78 - 8.7 differential. Leslie Park. I think there may have been 4 people on the course today. The season could end in a couple weeks or roll through December. I am hoping for the latter.

40/37 - 77

Was 3 under through 4 on the back nine trying to recover from the 40 on the front….then collapse.

I should actually play and practice more.

No, it's not! Great story though. I used to play there quite a bit. Even hosted an outing there for a bunch of executives from Silicon Valley and Japan. When you played there, did they still have the periscope up on the one par 5, or was that gone by then? There are some great scenic views on that course, aren't there?

AM round: 84 (Net 70) Swaneset Links Course
PM round: 85 (Net 73) Swaneset Resort Course

The morning round my driver was in flow state but on the second 18 the driver was NOT on. Putting was decent throughout though!!

How were conditions?

We had one of our leagues monthly tournament around 2019 at a course that unbeknownst to us, was closing the next day. They had stopped watering 3 weeks before and the course was playing very fast (the grass had stopped growing since there was no moisture at all) and there was one hole where the pin was in a location that the only way to get the ball to stop was to make it in the hole.

Its never been in fantastic shape, tee boxes are very beat up, grass is long in the fairway and on the greens. Greens are kind of a mess, but its still very playable and comfortable for me. There is still a small chance that a new management company takes over this winter, but course will shut down next week with no re-open date scheduled.

Yep, the course is a gem. It was several years since I played there. But, the last time I was there was a couple of years ago for the Western Intercollegiate. My nephew at the time was in D1 golf competing there and my sister was volunteering with the Golf Channel to help with the tournament. I don't remember the periscope or not. But next time I go there, definitely will look for the periscope.

Today, I shot the pneumococcal vaccine!

We both got our yearly flu shot. No pain, not even a noticably sore arm. One of the easiest ones ever.

47/44 for a 91. Tee game was good, iron/approach game was a nightmare, and my short game wasn't good enough to make up for the bad iron play. Our course is in its second week out of overseed so the fairways are still shaggy and wet with no roll and the greens are still slow. If there was any highlights to it, I guess it would be playing the last 3 holes at even par (chip-in birdie, bogey, par). 12/14 FW, 1/18 GIR, 31 putts with one 3-putt.

43/46 for an 89 today. This being my first round since the middle of September I can't be too upset. I did lose more balls off the tee on the back nine than normal, but that was me testing a new driver and having some timing issues. My putter saved my score. I ended up with 31 putts and had 4 one putts. I burned a lot of edges and had a couple of lip outs. Overall not upset, but it can be better.

The periscope is gone now. It was taken out 15-20 years ago. I think it was replaced by a bell you ring when you get down range. It was used to see players over the hill on the fairway of one of the par 5s.

Had to go to Sierra Vista to do a few things for my Mom yesterday so I took my clubs along and snuck in a morning round at Ft. Huachuca.

Tied my best score of the year, +1 - 73. Missed an easy 5 footer for birdie on 18 but still pretty happy with the way I was hitting the ball.

52+42=94

As you can see, the nines were rather different. Played a fun course with some challenging greens.

94. It was bad. I think I found like 2 flat lies all day. 5 if you count the par 3s. Some back tightness cropped up on the front 9 and haven’t gone away yet. I think I need to play a straightforward course this week to find some confidence.

74. In round 1 of a tournament

Shot an 81 today with the driver just not showing up until the last few holes.
I could’ve easily had another personal best but it was good enough to tie the 4 ball match going into singles tomorrow.

Good round!
Where are you in the standings?
It's my first one in this league. Mostly junior golfers mixed with a few D1 college players. I'm T8. My brother shot -2 and is in 1st

From the mid atl meet up yesterday.

39/36 75 today at my home course. 7 fairways, 9 greens, twenty eight putts, 5 up and downs. Only one birdie, today was all about grinding after not so great shots. Even made par after a hosel rocket for my second shot on the tenth.

37/40 for 77. And that was with two doubles and a triple. I was out of mind the other 15 holes playing some of the better golf of my year…

It was in a tournament between our men’s club and two others. I picked up 2/2 available points in my matches and we won the event by a point.
