What did you shoot today?

And honestly I left a couple strokes out there on those 15…
Every good round I have I look back at the shots that were just silly mistakes and wonder what could’ve been. Incredible round sir!

Son drove up and wanted to play yesterday. Early tee time no warm up wind chill in upper 30s. Shoot a solid 39/40 79 with 2 birdies. Putting was much better than it’s been being. Only one double and one 3 putt.

Is the rough at Torrey ever playable? The two times I played there (different years), a ball barely rolling into the rough resulted in an intense search. I was stepping on lost balls left and right.
I hear it’s marginally better in the spring and summer months but I’ve only ever played in January and now November. It’s “playable”, it’s just very difficult to read the lie and predict how the ball will respond.

I never played it, just stayed at the Hilton!

My employer is not far from there (as in, pretty much across the street. I heard they had a twilight league and would play Torrey for something like $29 for 9 holes.

Had this one for 69. It ran out of steam.

Possibly the last round of 2025. Relegated to our par-68 executive course. 38/39/77. Fairly pleasant for 45 degrees.

I broke 90 today fir the first time since I got back into golf about 5 years ago. Do they have Thanksgiving miracles?

My two rounds this week have been 76 and 75, which are close to my average for the year from the senior tees.

41 for a quick 9 holes. 2 bad doubles only flaw.

Pretty bad. 86 or something. Cold and damp, the course played long, and once again my driver was MIA. Had some decent birdie looks here and there, but the putter was only lukewarm today as well.

Beautiful Colorado day. Upper 50s temps and little wind until the 16th hole. Shot a 38-43 with no double bogeys. I'll take that every time. Happy Thanksgiving to me.

Shot 88 today with the temps in the 30's. Not a great score, but my instructor has me doing a 5-club challenge for the winter, so all my rounds for the foreseeable future are with 5 clubs only. I haven't scored like I wanted, but it's been an interesting exercise to learn more about shotmaking and what is possible with the club.

Don’t really want to talk about it, but had a good time. More people than I’d expected. Caught up to a group of 3 brand new Strata bags with a kid, asked us to play though. Short par 3 since tees are closed. I said “what’s the number?”

Kid “says 107….no wait, 103”

“Well which is it man??”

“107”

Stuck partial wedge and said “Ok dude, you’re coming with me!”

It was pretty funny. But dang I’m glad we got past them. Saw them a few more times, looks like they were having blast.

76 today with one chip in birdie and no doubles!

Played the best round of golf of the year today. Shot a 35-35-70 with 4 birdies and 2 bogies. The best part is I had a knee scope 10 days ago. I would say I am 100% back :).

36 on a casual beer 9 on our par 34 executive. Hit 6/9 greens and 5/6 fairways and made zero birdies. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I went 39-46 for an 85 in 38-41 degree weather. The cold probably got to me on the back 9 because that’s a pretty big swing. Along with some distance loss. Courses typically put the tees up this time of year but not today. Today it was a shot across the bow of anyone who decided to play the blues. It was as far back as they could make it. Pin placement was also borderline comical at times.

I felt like I left a ton of strokes on the course. It wasn’t my A game but I had more confidence over the ball. I had more control over my ball too. Not when it hit the green because some places were still frozen but starting line and flight. I’m content with how I played. Given the conditions that 85 could have been a lot higher.

40/43=83
Missed 4 birdie putts, 2 of which were inside 5ft. :poop:
4 doubles on the card as well, and lost a ball for the first time in a long time.
But, good company with a random pairing. A 16 cap who brole 80 for the first time (y) (y)

36/39/75

7 fairways, 9 greens, 29 putts, 1 bird, 1 double.

Was cruising along with 11 pars to start when all of a sudden, the swing escaped me. Over the next 3 holes, I went: double, bogey, bogey.

Dangit.

Steadied again, and a bird on #17 limited the damage. Highlight of the round was 7 up & downs, with 5 of them coming off my new CBZ wedges while on their maiden voyage. Getting up & down so often is certainly not my norm. That was fun.

Shot an 83 last night at my XGolf Wednesday night simulator league.

Played the forward tees (4000 yds) yesterday, shot 40/32 =72 (par 71). Too bad I couldn't putt (three 3-putts and a couple other missed shorties) or I could have dropped into the 60s. 10/14 FW, 16/18 GIR, 35 putts. 3 birdies, 11 pars, 4 bogeys.

Wow, crazy short. At the 4 courses in my area the shortest tees at one course are 5560, two are around 5150, and one is 4800. I'm guessing the par 5's on your 4000 course are around 350 yds average? the par 4's are around 225 yds average? and the par 3's 100 yds or under?.......Am I close?

One thing about going to a major golf event if you play with guys that are just flat out better golfers than you. It makes it easy to learn. I walk nine holes today and 36° weather and didn’t get to finish because this moisture stuff kept falling from the sky. I managed two birdies, two bogies five pars level through nine and it felt amazing. I’ll have some thoughts in the equipment for the appropriate threads that are available.
