What did you shoot today?

Virginia blessed us with a decent day yesterday at 55* and overcast. So some friends and I ventured out to Golden Horseshoe Green Course in Williamsburg, Va. Beautiful course that is lined with trees and sweeping hole layouts, very forgiving other than it stays pretty soft if you've had any recent rain. 1 big thing is pretty much all fairways have hills on both sides so it will help keep you in play.

Score: 98 (51/47) Wasn't unhappy but alot of penalties from bad tee shots & I VE TO learn how to chip in muddy conditions

Fairways: 6 (5/1) Driver played very nice on the front 9 and then the back 9 it was either perfect or OB haha

GIR: 5 (4/1) Chipping played alot in this sadly

Putting: 34 (18/16) Gave away some 6fters but made up with some longer putts. Average just under 2 putts so cant be too upset.

Overall it was an enjoyable round but would love to play this course again when it is dried out some. Almost every hole I was lifting my ball because it was plugging., bunkers were hard as a rock from being wet, & anything even close to low land was so soft. Even still the green were in great shape with plenty of speed and break.

One of those rare winter days when playing is possible. Temperatures in the mid-to-upper 30s, but the sunshine and no wind made it tolerable. Shot a 1-over 73.
Should have brought out a portable drill to put the tee in the ground. The bounce you got on the green from approach shots was highly variable. But felt good to be out there.

My basic round stats were:
Score 73 (33/37)
FIR 71% (10/14)
GIR 72% (13/18)
Scrambling 60% (3/5)
1 Birdies / 15 Pars / 2 Bogies
Putts 33

Beautiful weather today. Ugly golf game lol I shot a very ugly 94.

We played the forward tees today, I'm still playing on an injured left knee/leg. Shot 39/37 for a 76. 9/14 FW, 12/18 GIR, 34 putts.

I had a double and 4 bogeys, 4 out of those 5 resulted from blading my approach shots over the green because it's hard to put weight on the front leg right now. Frustrating, but I was happy just to be back out there and playing again.

I got out and played a round with my wife today after she opened her set of clubs for Christmas (her first set). I decided just to play the front tees with her which is pretty dang short.

I shot a 36/35 for a 71 with a double bogey on a short par 4 because of an OB. Solid round! It was my first round since putting the Elyte TD 5w in the bag and man that thing is an absolute WEAPON. I hit multiple over 260-265 with high flight and a tiny fade that made me blush

Final round of 2025 was a pretty flawless -3 69.

Three birdies, and fifteen pars.

Quite a few lipped putts.
One drive that hit a tree only 100 yards away that still turned into a par.
One drive in a divot that was moved.
And a partridge in a pear tree.

Shot a 79 yesterday on the old home course. Couldn't get the green speeds figured out for a handful of holes. Ended up with 2 birdies on the back 9 from some good approach shots.

Awesome round to finish the year! Congrats on the 69

We played the Links at Bodega Harbor in beautiful weather. They received 3+ inches of rain this past week, so everything was wet and soggy. Cart path only so we decided to walk; groups in front of us drove carts so it turned into a very long round (5+ hours). But still worth it to be playing golf in late December on the coast.

I shot 43/42, which isn't bad for my first time playing the course.

38 on par 34. Cold foggy mud golf. Cement bunkers. Said bunkers led to two doubles. Otherwise 5 pars, a bogey and a birdie. Not thrilled, nor annoyed.

It’s an interesting course. Don’t bring a slice or you’ll be buying lots of new windows for the houses in the middle of the fairways 🤣

First time I played it one of the randos I was paired with hit the same house on three consecutive swings.

Were you playing with me in our work league years ago?

I actually only hit the house twice. But then I hit their neighbors house next. Right side of the 8th hole.

I shot a 69 at Pebblebrook in Sun City West on Saturday. I was on pace to shoot a 67 or better, which would have been a PB, but had 2 bad shots that cost me a double-bogey and a bogey.

On one par-5, I was hitting a hybrid on my 2nd shot, trying to position myself for a 100-yard third after a poor drive. For some reason, I topped the ball. It hit a tree 20 yards in front of me and bounced back and to the left about six feet. Unfortunately, that was on a severe side slope with no grass, and I watched helplessly as my ball rolled down the hill, gathering speed until it went right through the gap in an iron fence and OB. Double-bogey.

On a 290-yard drivable par-4, we were playing into the wind. I figured a low fade would wind up short of the 2 bunkers that guard the green, but I wound up in one of them. I missed my entry point into the sand, caught the ball cleanly, and had it sail 20 yards over the green. Bogey.

6 birdies on the day, with the double and the bogey dashing my hopes for a PB. Still, I was very happy with the way I played overall.

It's definitely up there for most windows along a golf course. Really makes you think which club to use. I only had one worrisome tee shot; I think it landed in the bushes in front of the house since I didn't hear it hit anything.

Finished my tournament. Another 77. More bad putting but I feel like I'm close to a really great round. Unfortunately missed the cut but it happens

Started strong

Had one of those mid summer rounds today where the wedges were close and the medium putts all went in.

38/36 on a par 71. I only used the UT off the tee today so no woods or hybrids. There may be something to the thought of "keeping the ball in front" of the player

I’m gonna get a conversation bag from just posting this….

Shot a new personal best score!
41/40. Par 72, 6250 tees. 11.2 differential.

83 was my previous al time low.

+11 on the front and +4 on the back for an 86 (ESC of 84) on a par 71 course.

Started quad/par/quad. Started to stop the sway and got things on the right track.
