What did you shoot today?

weird round today in some pretty high wind. I felt like my contact was really good all day but battled a slight pull and continued to struggle with consistency with my woods. Some of that is knocking off some cold stretch rust for sure. I added some lead tape to my woods yesterday and that is helping a ton already. I hit more solid woods today than the last month combined! I wish I had ball speed on a couple of them because I think it would’ve been a big number.

82 was the score.
Did the weights help you feel where Club Head was?

Oh for sure. I added 6 grams to driver, 5 to the mini and 6 to my 5 wood and I think there’s immediate positive dividends of being able to feel the club head and also helping me naturally get “set” up top

If the golf club were much much heavier everyone would have a better swing. It would force you to use your body efficiently or you wouldn’t be able to swing it! I much prefer clubs to feel heavy…seems alot more accurate than being overly light.

Did not play well today. Ended up at an 86 with some terrible mistakes. The course was dry and ground collapsed under the ball if you weren't on the few grass patches. Had a fun time with the old crew but it was a rough round.

First round of the year and played to 4 over my handicap. Short game and putting were damn rusty but it feels like a good starting point.

Shot 87 on a par 69, went out in 39 back in 48.

Handicap 14

83

Shot an 83 at Blackhorse with a couple of doubles but a couple of birdies. First two hole were turds with me wondering why I even bothered getting out of bed. Found my swing on the 3rd and ended up playing the best round for a good while. This is a tough course with savage greens, so chuffed with that round!

Well, this only counts for hitting the ball
But,
Played Oakmont -Not for real. Still has 3+ inches of snow.
Simulator golf. But shot 79!

Haven’t played since before Xmas and it showed. 42/46 for 88 today. And felt like 108. The birdie hole was the really only solid tee shot all day. Felt very stiff, swing all arms etc. Played LPGA Hills course which is not my favorite but first guy out and finished in under 3 hours. And yes this is Florida and was 45 when I tee’d off this am.

40/43 = 83.
Couldn't make a putt, and mised 3 birdies inside 12-15ft. 36 putts on the day. Also had 2 doubles and one lost ball.
Front nine played in 1:40, back nine 2:45 :poop: 🤷‍♂️ ( Snow bird season )
Lost my swing on the back for a few holes.
Beautiful weather, comfortable random pairing.

44/35

This game is stupid.

I shot 75 from the Old Man tees this morning on a beautiful February day.

Played my 2nd 9 hole round for 2026. Feeling better, and finally getting some stamina back.

Had 5 pars, and 4 bogie 1s for a 40. 3 of the bogies were 1 putts.

Two parts of my game clicked today The new high lofted fairway woods gave me some added distance over the irons they replaced. This with decent accuracy. The 15w is turning into a fun club to hit. Very high ball flights, that drop, and stop at 75+/- yards.

Also with all the extra putting practice I been doing due to the short game area closure, it's finally paying off. Didn't miss anything inside 5 feet.

Im thinking I will be ready for 18 holes next week. I really want to get my 2026 playing time ramped up. 36 holes a week by March 1st.

Played with Granddaughter's boy friend, who I gave 3 drivers to last night. He's hitting the 12* degree driver around 250-260. Oh to be young, and strong. He just needs to work on his middle, and short games after shooting a 48.

40/39 for 79

I hate golf.

4 birdies and 2 bogeys to shoot 70. Would have been a 66, but left 4 putts dead center and short by 1 or 2" :/

46/54 100…. I have a lot to say but fist I need food

two rounds ago was struggling with driver so much texted my long time former instructor and set up a driver lesson. Ended up with a respectable 83 that day.

Had the lesson last friday. Got out yesterday for a round. lets see if it helped;

Hole 1; 147 yard drive. Not a typo. Worst drive in a while and that covers some ground.
Hole 3: 184 yard drive that ended up in hazard.
Holes 4 and 5 call for driver but I went 3h/3w.
Hole 6; best driver of day; 217 yards, 70 yards left of my target line.
Hole 9; weak wipey slice 216. Left me with tree issues.
Stayed in bag rest of day.

Cost me at least 4 strokes, maybe 5 depending on how you view hole 6...I had a makeable but difficult shot to get into play I did not execute.

Also managed a less than respectable 91. Now, to be fair, we were playing 6800 yards in winter condition and 17 and 18 were really too dark to play butut...that only accounts for 2 doubles.

Would have finished in the light but we were behind a single with an extremely tedious routine...we were waiting on him every shot and there was nobody in front of him. Not sure I can fathom being a single and taking 2:52 to play but he really liked to snail along so we had to. I blame him for 6 strokes...lol seriously, couple times I was so bored waiting for my turn that when it was I just stepped up and hit to get moving again. Those...did not go well.

Takeaway for me is this; there was a time I was a bug proponent of lessons. After realizing you either had to take them continuously for the rest of your life or paying a price when some of that swing broke I became anti-lesson. Having broken down and gotten one that did not feel like it was overly helpful at the time, practicing since has not seemed to improve and on-course performance dipped, I am more against them than ever.

Heading to range today to go back to working it out my way.

Side casualty was my plans to purchase the new new Callaway are in abeyance until I can hit a mother smurfing driver further than 217 yards and hit at least one decent shot in four attempts...

10 weeks post hip
Replacement today. Made it through 18. Just fun, not to post. I took three hip mulligans and moved two balls that were in weird lies to avoid an awkward stance. But didn’t lose a ball and leg didn’t fall off, though it was certainly tired and a little sore after.

Forgot to adjust the tees and shot 97 from 7300 on the sim. A lot of rust shook off as I just started hitting on the sim.

Just had time for 9 today after some extensive practice. Shot a 44 on the front.

Better than I played yesterday but still not hitting the shots on the course I’m hitting on the range. When that translates it’ll be amazing

Shot a miserable 90 today.

First time I've gotten in 18 this year and fatigue really kicked my butt. It was a muddy mess after raining all day yesterday. Really struggled with ballstriking and the mud made it worse. Tee game was excellent and I putted fairly well, but doesn't do any good when you're chunking it twice before you get to the green. Oh well, just happy to see 60 degrees in February.

The game is shaping up nicely. The one double bogey was from a bunker shot with no sand in it that caught a bit too much face. Damn near a PB for me.
