What did you shoot today?

Well, that was unexpected!

First time out this year. We've had quite the winter. The last 4 days we've had rain, which got rid of all the snow, except the piles. One local course had 9 holes open, so I went for it.

At barely over 40 degrees and after all that rain and melted snow, the course played long. Every shot was all carry with some allowance for the cold and wind. Very happy with the results.

Score: 35 (1-under par)
FIR 100% (7/7)
GIR 67% (6/9)
Scrambling 100% (3/3)
1 birdie / 8 pars
Putts 14

A disappointing 83

Swing wasn't really there today, and 2 lost balls is 4 shots straight away so it could have been a 79, but could also have been a lot better again if I didn't chunk numerous iron shots as well

My miss today was left with driver, which really threw me as my usual shot is a slight fade, but I turned over way too many tee shots with a few pulls in there as well and it messed with my head

An often frustrating 85 with a few doubles, a stretch of 7 straight bogeys on 10-16, but also back to back birdies on 17-18. Was also gusty windy today and longest tees I’ve played since the new hip. Overall not terrible all things considered. New hip. New coach. It’s a start. First round I’ve posted since September.

I shot what felt like a sloppy 81. Approach SG had me at +2.23 so that wasn’t it. Short game felt dialed. Tee game wasn’t as strong as usual, losing me 0.6 in SG to drop to a +2.26. I guess it just felt sloppy because it was chilly and soggy. That led to some ball striking issues along with wet sand which is always a joy to play out of. Sometimes the feel of a round isn’t close to reality.

Shot an 85 today on a 71/130. Struck the ball so good today, hit 9 greens today but could not get the putter going. Part of it was because the greens were in terrible shape, which was very annoying given how much I paid to today. Three putted four times all for bogeys which infurates me. Highlight was hitting the flag stick on the 17th from 146 yds to leave a 10 footer for the bird, which I promptly missed :poop: .

Very wet conditions... even tee box was Casual water. Had 3 Birdies, 7 Bogies and 8 Pars. Greens were so slow due the water

heck of a day for Ole Stoney out on Indian Peaks. We got about 4 inches of snow on Friday after a winter drought and I only gave about a 5% chance to get on course but the golf gods were apparently smiling. Too bad the scores don't count until 3/15. 🙃

Shot an 85 today in a really fast round so decided to get 9 more in and shot a 40 on that 9. Overall not bad.

I hit the ball way better than the score indicated. Too many short game brain farts, bad bounces...
51/43 on a windy day on a tough course.

Wife & son got there naps in yesterday so I snuck out for a quick 9 at the home course of Cypress Creek Golf course around 4pm. Have really been itching to get out and play as indoor sim play/practice just isn't scratching that itch anymore haha. Weather man said rain around 6pm but we chanced it and it played nice being 75* overcast with a decent breeze.

No warm up or range session just straight to the first Tee. Had no expectations just wanted to play golf outside. Told myself just smooth and steady swings. My Srixon ZX5 MKii irons are new to me so have been unsure of the distance with them on course so I just chose to club up when in question. Overall a good round and was happy with the results but this should go to show that sometimes hitting fairways doesn't even matter haha

Score - 47
Fairways hit - 6 of 7 for 86% .... missed the others left with pulled drives
Greens in Reg - 2 of 9 for 22% ... this is the metric that is killing me. I wasn't missing big just missing enough to cost me strokes when user error came into play chipping/putting
Putts - 19 ... gave away some 5-6fters and left some long putts shorter than I would have liked. Probably my least confident club in the bag right now.
Penalties - 1 ... hole 9 is a 274yds Par 4 that depending on the tee box location becomes questionably drivable. Today it was back so not for me. Took a 6i instead of my usual 8i to lay up off the Tee as I was trying to give myself a little shorter shot than normal to the green. Ended up on the downslope just before the water making the 110yd approach a little dauting. Thinned it into the water so boo!
User Errors - 2 ... topped a 3w resulting in a 50yds roller on Hole 4 Par 5 as my second shot trying to get some extra out of it when I should have just stuck to the 5w then after hitting a 5w to right side of the green pin high i shanked a chip. :cautious:

Semi-hot streak is still chugging along. Made some stupid mistakes around the greens, but ball striking has been really solid and I have not been killing myself off the tee. This was a 9-hole course where you play the front from the white tees and the back from the blue tees.

41 41 Balboa whites...meh...not great, not bad...but a really nice.day...77 degrees and sunny... 4 hours 45 minutes...typical city weekday muni...went off at 11am

It’s been a month or better since I played in our club’s Monday scramble. Got a great draw today, everybody contributed. 4 groups on the front nine, we came in on top with a -5/31. Doubled our money!

The year is off to a great start! This was my first round of the year. I did get 9 holes in last Friday.

FIR 93% (13/14)
GIR 78% (14/18)

40/41 with a double on 18 to blow a shot at a sub 80 round ☹️

Shot 76 with a triple bogey and a double bogey and broke my putter on teh 14th hole. Quite the day. 35 front / 41 back

39/40 for a 79 (par 70). 7/11 FW, 7/18 GIR, 31 putts.

The last good weather day for a while, according to the forecast. Took advantage while I could.

Score: 69 (34/35) 2-under par
FIR 100% (14/14)
GIR 78% (14/18)
Scrambling 100% (4/4)
2 birdies / 16 pars
Putts 30

First round on a course since mid-November - injury and rain means that I have had a lot of time away from the grass. Managed to get 9 holes in today before work started - second tee time of the day. Mainly off mats but full greens - soggy in places and bunkers were GUR (had a drop on the 6th from the green side bunker). I scrambled well.

43 (+8), 15 putts.

Should have had a par on the 2nd - poor first putt. Waited on the 5th tee for 10 minutes while the greenskeepers cut the green which contributed to that double - but really I'm very pleased with it overall considering my layoff and the time of year.

Birthday round yesterday afternoon in the record high 80* day in March here in Va. Had a blast on course as it was fairly empty so continuous play was achieve. Unsure if it was fatigue that set in after Hole 7 or what but I could not get away from heel shots off the Tee and chunky irons. Just kept struggling and was afraid to change anything and chase a feeling. Managed a decent score still and thankful I got to get out and enjoy the course.

Cypress Creek Golfers Club in Smithfield, Va
Score - 90 ... Front 40, Back 50.
Fairways hit - 8 of 14 for 57%.... Good # for a 22 handicap haha
Greens in Reg - 6 of 18 for 33%... Much better performance with the approach but left some on the table with bad club selection
Putts - 36... Front 16, Back 20, I know its not an excuse but back 9 was freshly sanded and watered so super slow and alot of breaking putts didn't break. Was happy with the putter and green reading performance
Birdies - 1... Hole 1! So maybe first hole score doesn't matter haha
Penalties - 2... Hole 13, Par 3 151yd to the flag which was front just over the water and I came up just short because of a chunky iron shot. Hole 15, Par 4 about a 350 yard hole but 240yds off the tee lands in the 50yds of marsh before the green. Ended up chunking my approach iron into the marsh after a decent 3w from Tee.
User Errors - Between wet sand in bunkers making it difficult to read how its going to play and soft/muddy chip shots I just haven't figured that area of the game out yet.

84 today following an 84 on Monday. The winds paired with the Bermuda greens have given me some fits, but a more promising start to the year for me compared to last year which is nice.
