You mean 'Landman' drama show
You know, I've never watched an episode of Landman. I'm in the perfect spot for me because I want to deal with as few people as possible and, because they don't want any part of the jobs I do, they leave me alone! Every once in a while I have to hear how I'm anti-social, but that's usually only 1-2 times per year!

Now that sound like a decent job. (y)

Technical Support Analyst for the state. Basically, help users when their computer doesn't want to.

Retired early after 20 years in corrections/law enforcement to finish law school.

Now I work from home for a company that mostly runs emergency management and disaster recovery programs for state/local governments. My official title is Policy Analyst, and while I do in fact perform policy analysis - I actually have to read the bill, unlike the people who pass them - I also write standard operating procedures for projects, help with business development, identify/evaluate prospective teaming partners, and do some compliance/anti-fraud work.

There are other things I'd rather be doing, but the fact is that I get paid decently to work from home and pretty much make my own hours, so I play plenty of golf during the week.

Primary occupation is chauffeur for tiny humans right now.

I am in enterprise software sales to financial services firms. I have been selling technology for 38 years now. Most of the last 20+ years was spent running national sales teams. I made a shift two years ago and I am an individual contributor again. I do miss the coaching aspect of things.

If things go according to plans I am going to do this for a couple of more years. 40 years seems like it is enough.

Like many of you I married an angel. She has had to put up with a lot from me (from a health perspective) and she has never tried to curtail the amount of golf that I play. She is definitely an enabler for me.

Retired law enforcement. Worked 22 years in patrol, 8 years as a field supervisor (sergeant). Fortunately I never took up the all-too-common cop hobby of collecting ex-wives, it's the most expensive hobby you could ever have. This year will mark 14 years of retirement, hard to believe how fast the years have flown by.
Ditto for me. 28 years in patrol and 4 as field supervisor. Been retired almost 9 years. Gawd seems like a lifetime ago!

I manage the employee records section of payroll at an enterprise level for the state of Florida. We essentially keep an eye on all the state agencies and make sure everything is done correctly in regards to employees and their pay.

It's so weird - on one hand it seems so distant that it's almost like it never happened, but on the other hand I can remember pick up day at the Academy like it was yesterday!

Operations Manager at a steel mill in Cleveland
when I think of this part of the country, this is the exact job role that comes to mind first ha

I try to reign in PhD Engineers, Physicists and Chemists to design "targets" that get shot by the world's most powerful laser system (The National Ignition Facility).

They are the brains, but I have to figure out how to make their dreams actually come to fruition (I am a mechanical designer) and get it documented.

Electrical Contractor.
Maybe my last day. 2 of my lead guys called in on very big project wise day. Client called and said the $20,000 worth of lighting we installed that he specifically asked for is not going to work and he wants it all tore down and he isn't taking responsibility. Longest wire pull of my career is short because one of my crew gave me the wrong measurement. Another $10,000 F*&% up that just comes out of this greedy small business owners pocket. Oh and I have a root canal scheduled for 4 pm today.

I teach people how to needle other people to help them get better.
