Biding my time until I can retire but until then I work in planning for an Aerospace company that focuses on military drones. It's boring, but easy, and I get a ton of time off so I can't really complain. Also working in the defense industry is a lot more stable than working in golf the last few years
that's pretty cool. A friend after spending 12 years in the Army now works as a contractor for the last 6 years in Savannah at Hunter Field with the 224th Aviation Battalion.

Retired. Locomotive Engineer amongst other roles in the rail industry.
<><
My dad has been in the rail industry for quite a while now. I think 3 more years until retirement for him.

Retired general contractor. Here in Ca i pay over the winter for golf. Summers in Mn i part time on a crew mowing and such so i get free golf there.

I try to reign in PhD Engineers, Physicists and Chemists to design "targets" that get shot by the world's most powerful laser system (The National Ignition Facility).

They are the brains, but I have to figure out how to make their dreams actually come to fruition (I am a mechanical designer) and get it documented.

That's a really cool job.

I am a massive nerd....And work in engineering despite being a nothing marketing grad. (i self taught myself electrical engineering on my lunch breaks over 6-7 years reading textbooks and app notes)

So i am always a bit envious of guys that really do this work instead of just theoretically talking about it, which is mostly what i do

Sell chicken sandwiches in foreign countries ;)

I lead an organization for a large HCM company that manages, operationalizes, and architects data platforms and data solutions ( on prem and in the cloud ) for all of the various business units, including supporting AI, Data Science, and Data analytics workloads. This includes traditional database technologies, data and event streaming technolgoies, as well as cloud based AI and data analytics platforms. I'm also the head Data Architect for the business partnering with my peer in the Enterprise Architecture to set the direction on adoption strategies and directional architectures.

Cliff notes: I do data stuff for a big company with lots of data.

"When i got into this business i thought painting houses was for contractors, construction types.....back then, what did i know"

I measure and estimate contributions by people who put in a lot of effort while other people pay to watch them do so.

"Put people to sleep" like what an anesthesiologist does or like a vet does for animals? :giggle:
Depends how the day goes. I’m a human anesthetist

My cousin is a nurse (at least this is how I remember her explaining it) for this and her day was what you are, but retired now.
