What do you remember about the first time you swung a golf club?

The first time you picked up a club to swing it, what do you remember about it? Mini golf doesn’t count.

For me, I was in college and had a friend who played in HS. We went to the university course together to play. I’m a lefty and had to use his RH clubs. Of course my swing was ugly and terrible but I remember hit the green on a par 3 out of pure luck. I didn’t pick up the game more seriously until after college but that day it was simply to just do something new because he wanted someone to play with.

I remember it not going very far, then I remember wanting to tee it up again in the rough and my dad trying to explain why I can only tee it up on the first shot on a hole. Hard for a kid to understand!
