What golf lies do you tell yourself?

I can hit this one out to the right and avoid the big draw that takes it right into the water on the left.

I'm so so close to breaking 80

I don't need to play today.

There is a window for me to get to the green from out of the trees.

Rockets one by... Looks up... Sun really must be baking these greens now. Speedy

I'll get that PB today.

I can make a birdie without following it up with a bogey.

It'll still be there in a few days.

Over a particularly challenging shot...

"I got this."

Meaning I have this shot in my repertoire. So very often... no I don't.

I think it’s still in play...

It opens up over there ...

I can't get into a rhythm when I have to wait so long before every shot, this slow pace is killing my game.

That I can play golf every single day with little to no rest and still play well (spoiler alert, the scores get worse the longer I play :ROFLMAO:) I always go in so confident though so I lie to myself alot lol

It must be "Now I finally know how to hit my irons!".. after a round with a good swing and good ball striking.

So the drive was off some, but I can get this shot through that narrow opening in those trees and recover perfectly.

I'm the man I used to be on the course...

Reality = not even close!

Bright spot = I think I can get back there again with stretching and strengthening (might be another lie I'm telling myself though).

I can make it over that water hazard.

after striping that first tee shot "today is THE day...all fairways all day"

This one won’t go left......

"I'll look great in these joggers/blade collar/high top golf shoes".

I don't need to work on that.

"Nobody saw that."
