What Golf Stuff Did You Do Today?

I'll be getting UTx grips installed on my J15 58 and Matrix White Tie shaft once they're delivered. I'm planning on getting some putting practice in this afternoon as well.
 
Met with an instructor about starting some lessons next week! Pretty pumped about that and glad I quit being so stubborn!

Also had a matching midsize grip put on my 52* J15 wedge to tinker with my wedge setup. Thinking about going back to the 52* J15 and 56* PM-grind, instead of the 54*/58* J15's.

As always THP'd and living room putting. Still soooo soggy here!

Good to hear. Having an instructor is the best golf investment one can make over anything else.

Went into my garage this afternoon and hit 50-75 yard wedge shots on Optishot to hopefully get rid of whatever is going on in my head with the short clubs.

I hit about 100 balls total.

About 25 were to a target 75 yards away. I had marginal success there, managing to get about 10 to within 15 feet.

The other 75 were to a target 50 yards away. There, I had much more success, managing to get about 55 to within 15 feet and a good majority of those were inside 10 feet.

Back to it tomorrow afternoon.

I'm gonna start next Tuesday, really looking forward to it and hope I can take a step in the right direction this year. My instructor is the director of golf at Crab Orchard Golf Club, which is managed by the same group that manages Gateway.
 
Played the little par 3 course outside of the PGA Village. 6 holes. About 50 yds each. Was 2 under on 1st round, 1 under on the second. PB today.

THPing and putting has been it for me today. Still way to wet to get outside here.
 
Played 18 at Plantation in Frisco. 41/43-84 with a lot of putting woes!

I went out to the garage again for another 30 minutes or so and hit another 50 wedge shots from 50 yards.

35 inside 15 feet of those 50.

Getting better.

Hit the range this morning to work on some things that felt wrong during yesterday's round. Then went and played 18 this afternoon.
 
Picked a sweet new avatar. The King is pleased.
 
THP and had a lesson with my instructor.

Hit about 10 balls on the sim with the White Tie installed.

 
Hour or so of full shots in the am. 18 holes of sim with a bonus 18 holes of alt shot format.. Getting ready for Regional Rivalry formats..

i went to jessy james golf here in orlando to hit my j15 driving forged test drive package against my gamers to get some real numbers. i even brought my #thpballerstatus b330s balls to get as close as the real deal results as i could. i only hit 7i, not the 5i. mike at jjg had lengthened my rogue silver 110 msi, so we tested that against my gamer setup. here were my numbers:

j15 df 7i with dg pro r300 (gamer): 164 carry, 85.5 chs, 114.4 bs, 1.34 smash, 5,115 spin, 20.5* launch, 96' height. the conspiracy theorist in me thinks he left a few of the obviously missed balls in this grouping, because i hit some really nice shots including some registering 190 carry! that's 20 yards farther than anything i see on the course though :)

j15 df 7i with dg pro s300: 172 carry, 85.2 chs, 117.2 bs, 1.38 smash, 4,959 spin, 20.5* launch, 102' height. what a big difference in feel from regular to stiff. the dg pro stiff feel VERY stiff. i hit these well, but honestly they felt like too much shaft for me.

j15 df 7i with nippon modus tour 120 s: 180 carry, 86.7 chs, 121.2 bs, 1.40 smash, 4,774 spin, 20.5* launch, 110' height. at the driving range i was hooking the crap out of this, but in his studio i was smoking it and VERY consistent.

we also hit modus 125 and modus 130 but in different heads and with 6i. the 120 was the clear winner. it's expensive though!

then we switched to driver. unfortunately because i hate hitting indoors i kept hitting everything a hair low on the face. but here are my numbers:

j815 set to "RIGHT" aldila dvs 60 s (gamer): 227 carry, 233 total, 97.6 chs, 146 bs, 1.50 smash, 3,377 spin, 9.4* launch, 63' height. these are NOT the numbers i see on the course. i think tadashi70 and jim54 can attest to the fact that i can launch this pretty high. i wish i had been able to swing it better today, but oh well.

j815 set to "RIGHT" aldila rogue silver 110msi s: 232 carry, 235 total, 96.9 chs, 144.3 bs, 1.49 smash, 3,394 spin, 13.2* launch, 88' height. this is about 1/4" shorter than the dvs. it felt great, and the dispersion was excellent. i'm going to try this shaft out this weekend.

Made a pit stop at UST HQ.

And did some club "un-installation".
 
Hit a Cobra F6+ I found on the used rack at GS. Quite loud but the numbers looked good.
 
THD'd. Caught myself day dreaming about #TheGauntlet. Took some swings in the backyard with my GBB.
