What Golf Stuff Did You Do Today?

Hit 160 balls on the range with only irons specifically working on flighting down and compressing the ball more effectively. I feel A LOT better about not hitting floaty iron shots that aren't piercing after I recorded some shots, here is an example of what I was working with on the range.

6 iron, ~195 carry video

Played in a pairs tournament at a course I have only played once before and just found out we were the best visitor score and only 1 point behind the winners who were from the club

Setting up the Mevo Plus. Break it out of the box and it needs to be charged for 2 hrs first.
Also buying some metallic dots for the golf balls from eBay.

Went to the local dry lake. Wife, and I picked up a couple foot long Subways, and a 6 pack.

Spent time hitting that 14* 460cc driver that was recently given to me. Results were agreeable enough for future use.

Carry yardage using e6 Bridgestone balls was 190-200 yards. Being a dry lake bed, the the roll out was about another 35 yards or so. About 15 yards more than a fairway roll out would be.

My 10.5 current gamer carry was in the 215-220 range.

What was really nice to see was a bit more accurate drives.

Also, that 14* degree club face launched the ball higher, which made eye balling it in the air easier. This alone could save me 3-4 strokes a round. (fewer lost balls)

I also hit some of my irons, checking their carry distances. Used a mat for those.

After a while, we just kicked back, ate 1/2 our Subs, drank some beer, and watched other people recreating in the open, sage brush free area.

Model rockets, ultra lights, rc models, (planes/cars/drones) motor cycles, off road buggies, kite flying were the norm.

Spent about 4 hours out there.

Went to the dome to hit balls today. Had a really good session after not hitting for a few weeks. Quickly remembered why I don’t hit drivers off mats.

Hour at the dome. Had a great session!

Pitch, chip and putt practice today using 3 practice pins, on a two tier practice green.

Simple routine. I would pitch, or chip one ball from various areas around green to different pins. Then putt the ball. Pins were any where from 6' feet, to 30' feet, with the ball from 2' feet to 15' feet from the green.

Played 36 practice pins like this. Goal was to average less than 3 strokes per hole. Wound up averaging 2.62 per hole. Just a little higher than I wanted.

Toured TPC Prestancia in Sarasota with my brother. He’s looking for a club to join. I’m a great brother so I offered to assist with evaluation activities. 😀 I could only play the front because of $&-/&! work but he played a full 18 with another member. Shot 39 on the front. The back 9 is tighter. Hope to play it soon!

Worked on my swing in the yard during the day. Trying to be ready for the AM championship I am playing in on sat.

Practiced putting at home, swung my orange whip light speed swing stick and did a WHOLE bunch of THP live today!

Played 18 this morning, then THP'd - the Grandaddy thread is LIVE!

Hit 50 balls into my backyard net with an old wedge and old 7 wood. Trying to gear back up after about 3 months of not swinging a club or hitting a ball. Hit 40 each on Monday and Tuesday.

Had a lesson this morning doing some last minute prep for an Am tourney i am playing in tomorrow! I am really looking forward to the competition. I have 12 people in my flight my goal is to be in the top 5. I have to have a strong tee game at Sewailo tomorrow. I know the course well and i am as ready as i can be. My coach always pops videos up on Instagram and this was todays. My tempo has gotten so much better with all my clubs except the driver lol. I still want to just rip that club lmao. I have my game plan and i am ready to go!

Hit around 30 balls inside to see how the knee is doing. There was pain but was manageable. Will get out and play 9 Sunday to see how that goes. My surgery cannot come soon enough.

Today I signed up for the Veterans Golf Association and registered for my first event. I can already feel the butterflies even though my last 4 rounds have been at this course.

Found out we made it into the sim league playoffs, so ran over to the shop to get in a bit of practice on the GC4.

Gotta say, the Conra Radspeed XB driver has been VERY fun on the sim. Have not played golf here in Ny since the Hogan event. The Hogan Players combo irons and wedges have been really fun too.

The XB enjoys par 5s!

Lets see. Wednesday I played twilight golf, 9 holes with 1983 Hogans just for the heck of it. Did alright, considering. Club selection for distances was a challenge. Shot a 43. Made some nice putts.

Thursday I played 15 holes (rained out) with 2020 TE fitted blades. Did a little better. I was at 71 when we had to quit. Was still putting well.

Friday I played 18 holes in windy, much cooler weather using my regular game improvement gamers on my home course.
Did alot better, with an 82. Home field advantage is great thing in any sport/game. Probably the first time I played in long oants in 10-11 months.

First 24 holes were played at the Mojave GC, at the Avi Resort, south of Laughlin, Nevada. Great course. I highly recommend it. The resort/casino itself was ok.

Today I woke up up to 30*f weather, with some wind. Might watch some tv golf if anything is on. Just know I'm indoors for a while today.

Winterized the clubs today and organized the dedicated garage golf storage area. Nice to get everything straightened up.

Probably won’t be playing until the end of January with a trip to Fla. Definitely try to get in some simulator play as well!

Grabbed my Sunday bag and played an 18 hole executive course. Iron game was trash, chipping with the 60* was sharp, putting was the best it's been in a while. I was 2 putting a lot of seriously tricked up greens.

Played a quick 9 to break in the new irons. Cleaned them up when I got home.

60 balls into the net in my backyard today. Thinking I will be ready to resume playing this coming week.

Tried the new Mizuno Pro lineup today.
