What Golf Stuff Did You Do Today?

Trip out with the wife to York who let me drop into the local course that happens to stock L.A.B putters. Managed to have a roll with the different variants of the OZ1 and didn’t hate it. More research to do….

Season 2 Nothing GIF by The Roku Channel

I had my alarm set for our 7:00 am tee time, and when I awoke at 5:30 the temperature outside was in the mid-30s, so I turned the alarm off and went back to bed. The golf season is long enough, I don't need to play in undesirable conditions early in the season.

A little range sesh preceded by a little work on the putting green

Played round in serene conditions… the the wind started around 5 holes in … and gradually strengthened to around 40-50 kmh .
Also had competition going ….
The round went some 5 ish hours …
So slow they were ….

And balls wouldn’t stay on green, as they were cut , and hole positions were difficult …

Just a great day lol

Backyard night putting. A buddy got these for the kids as a Xmas gift. Finally brought them out tonight. OMG so fun. They don‘t light up til impact. We filmed some cool slowmo shots at impact in the dark. Great practice night of putting.

A whole lot of THP live event following. Crazy action.

Spent last night putting and getting some info from the Square system.

Ended up doing about 100 putts with 3 putters. Was a ton of fun and basically the end result is yeah my OZ rocks.

Played 18 at zero dark thirty.

Booked my tee time for True Blue last night and called today to reserve a Finn Scooter for my round end of June!

Played my 3rd 18 in a row - 1st 2, walking.

The last couple of days I started looking into online coaching. Sent my swing into several instructors for initial analysis - majority of them i thought I got really good feedback on, but one I felt really stuck out. Signed up yesterday for a monthly coaching plan which includes 2 lessons each month and able to message back and forth throughout the month.

We'll see how this goes. This option is much more affordable than instructor locally. The instructor at my club helped a lot initially, but didn't have any interest in sending videos of things we worked on.

Not playing cause working but spent the night at Indian Wells. Walked the course early this AM and this place is beautiful. Conditions look unbelievable. Want to come back here for sure.

I have been pulling some of my putts. Not many but enough to be some what of an annoyance. Maybe not a pull, but mising left.

Club path is straight, but for some reason, just before impact I close the club face.

So, I went back to my original putting grip I used several decades ago.

When gripping the club handle, I turn my left (top) hand counter clock wise. With my right (lower) hand, I turn it clock wise. Both hands are showing more palms. Doing this has my hands opposing each other. It also stiffens my wrists.

With the hands opposing each other, one hand can't over power the other. Thus not opening, or closing the club face.

The toughest part of using this grip is getting use to it, as it is a bit uncomfortable.

Of course since I use my putting grip, and stroke for my chipping, Im using the same grip with my chipping clubs.

I figure it will take a week to get use to new grip.

Clean up the Garage SIM area and mapped out where I want to add some golf memorabilia

Took my son to his lesson!

Played a really good front 9 and atrocious back 9

Played 18 then practiced putting

Played a super bad 9 holes, well maybe a normal 6 holes after a horrible first three. Super slow pace, and was waiting on every shot. not good for anyone.

Got in my Stack session and now catching up on THP

Did a bit of clubwork this morning, and then played 9 with Cal this evening.

Considering a bit more work later, but we'll see.

Hit the driving range after work.. my swing is getting uglier with the lack of time to work on it but I'm trying

Went to the range after work. Tried to play a sim round on a local course by using 18Birdies course preview and Toptracer to see how far I was actually hitting the ball. Got pretty annoying after a few holes of switching apps. But hit the pretty good, so I'm happy with that.

Carpet putted with my putters and posted around THP including some RNK screenshots for our upcoming event.

Another (poor) 18 this morning. May be for the best that this is my last round for about 10 days. Third straight round where I fail to break 90. This hasn't happened in ages.
