What is a truly terrible movie?

I am as far from a southerner as can be and I love it. It's one of the Coen Brother's best films and a fantastic adaptation of Homer's Odyssey.
Oh, I'm not saying there aren't non-Southerners who love the film. Just that I have yet to meet one that loves it as much as so many of us Southerners do.

And I agree. It is absolutely one of the best Coen Bros films.

Considering how excited I was to see it, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was utter bilge!

After Earth with will and Jaden Smith. Last time I went to a movie without checking rotten tomatoes score.

Naked Gun 33 1/3 is still the only movie that had me leave the theater. But I also hated The Book of Eli.

3 pages and no one has mentioned

"Death and the Maiden"
I've always been a big Sigourney Weaver fan, went to this in the theatre. Had a hard time staying awake. Probably the worst movie I've seen.

Some of the later Nielsen movies got pretty bad. But they all had moments.....there are some really funny lines in 33 1/3 haha

-Frank, you can't go undercover, you might end up dead
-You might end up dead is my middle name
-Yeah well what about Jane?
-I don't know her middle name

-Freeze and no one gets hurt!
(guy falls from rafters)
-Umm, from now on!

-Any last words before i kill you?
-Yes, don't do it

I also have used the name Nick "The slasher" Mcgurk on message boards before. haha

Just watch some MST3K. PLENTY to choose from. It’s actually the premise of the show. But generally agreed that ‘Plan 9 from Outer Space’ is one of, if not, THE worst movie of all time.
Bela Lugosi’s last movie… and he DIED half way through production.

Purple Rain is absolutely horrible, but I’ll watch it anyway for nostalgia, tunes, one liners. I still can’t do this dance.

🤣

After giving it some more thought, the most disappointing movie I have ever seen was Napoleon. I walked out of the theater after about 45 minutes. It actually made me uncomfortable because it was so awkward and awful. As a history nerd, maybe my expectations were too high, but you couldn't pay me to watch it again.

Yeah, "Plan 9 from Outer Space" was (and may still be) generally regarded as the worst movie ever..... SO bad, it's a cult classic... Plenty of lousy movies made since then though.. The worse?? Maybe, maybe not.

The movie ABOUT that movie , titled "Ed Wood" starred Johnny Depp. (Ed Wood was the writer, director and producer of Plan 9 from Outer Space as well as some other really horrible films) Ed Wood wasn't wasn't exactly a spectacular film either but has also become a bit of a cult classic.... go figure!

Sounds like a similar thing that happened with "The Disaster Artist." Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" is also considered amongst the worst movies of all time and it's so bad that it became a cult classic.

"The Thin Red Line" is the only movie I have ever walked out on. Kept falling asleep....

The new Snow White??

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Most movies out of hollywood are terrible. They seem to think you should walk away from it with some lingering question or that a ending that pisses you off is a good ending.
I go to the movies to be entertained and walk away happier than I walked in.

Had to pretend to be watching Barbie Movie because I lost a bet. Yeesh! Don't know if it's actually terrible? I've gotten pretty good at pretending to pay attention.

The Notebook hands down

The Lobster
Killing of the Sacred Deer

I thought those would forever stand alone at the top of the most shi**y movies. But then I watched Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal...

Showgirls is a really bad movie but I’ll watch it.

99.99% of the THPers will never have seen this movie as it's a 20y old French comedy movie called: RRRrrrr!!! This is not a typo or exaggeration, it's actually the spelling of the movie title.

The storyline takes place 35000y ago where 2 tribes fight each other over shampoo. Yes shampoo! The Tribe of Clean Hair was peaceful, due to its possession of the shampoo formula. The Tribe of Dirty Hair was at odds with the Tribe of Clean Hair due to this, and their leader wished for access to the formula of shampoo. The leader of the Dirty Hair tribe decided to send a spy to steal the recipe. But for the first time in the history of humanity, a murder had been committed...
