There are so many variables that go into finding the right golf ball for your game. But everyone has that one thing that’s an absolute deal breaker — whether it’s color, feel, spin, alignment line, price, or something else entirely.

What’s your personal ball-selection deal breaker, and why is it so important to you?

I can't play a low spinning ball, just no chance....so those Left Dash or whatever , stuff like that. Can't even try them, no point

Mine is or at least has been currently Iron and Wedge spin. I struggle to get spin on my irons and wedges and really want more spin. To be far after some discussion on here the last month or two I might need to change my swing focus to more height to decrease the need for this but that was my thought in my current ball selection as it gets me a good level of spin in my irons to help me get the shot shape and results I am looking for.

Not picky. I want to match the ball to the irons first to ensure it can hold greens, then everything else

Mine is low spin/launch. I don't hit the ball that hard so I really need some spin to help get the right trajectory on my balls. If I play a ball that doesn't want to spin or stay in the air it's really tough for me. Especially on approach. It's not fun landing on the front of the green and rolling off the back during the meat of the golf season.

No yellow option.

Interesting what do you consider a matching ball, spin, height, distance?

Lower spin in general I can't afford to lose any.

I have finally moved away from the Bridgestone e12 line to their tour B. I will now only play urethane balls to help with holding greens.

I feel you I prefer the neon greens when I can find them just find that I can see them well both in the sky and in the grass and those are even harder to find then yellows

That was part of the spin push for me I found I needed to be in a Urethan ball as well which is a shame as the e12 straight was a great ball for me off the driver but I was losing strokes around the greens.

Yes to all three. If I do an iron test with my current high spin ball and spin is off the planet, it's not a match right? If I go to a standard ball it brings spin down maybe we are in the correct neighborhood. The ball matters when you do a test to see if the iron is right for you. If you are adamant about using a certain ball then you definitely want to make sure the iron head will deliver it properly without too much/little spin/launch/etc.

So, has to be yellow, not green, gloss cover, and have great feel. Softer orbs are my thing, and I play 2-piece balls. I don't play enough, and my game is not really good enough to play the more expensive Tour type offerings. A 3-piece urethane would be nice, but spin for me is a killer, especially off the tee. I learned how to chip with surlyn balls, and I don't do bad around the greens. My playing partners are impressed with my short game skills, and tell me so. I tell them that it's a 2-piece ball, and they wonder how I get it to check up! Urethane has not always been around, so I learned with what we could buy at the time. Inconsistency with my full swing, off the tee, or on approach shots is my game killer! I still lose a few sometimes, so I play value balls. I like my current gamer, the Maxfli Softfli, in gloss yellow. It feels good for me, and pretty much does what I need it to do, provided I put a good swing on it...

And I am the complete opposite. Can't play a high spinning ball. Give me all the low spin lol.

This is a great example why options are so great. If you and I had to play the same ball, it might work well for one of us and absolutely horrible for the other.

For me it has been too much spin in the long game. A ball that spins too much off woods just balloons on me.

High spin is my number one "no chance" situation.

Secondary to that is presentation, because I'm that guy. Giant seams, giant logos, they really ruin the good time for me.

Spin and color seem to be winning the day so far going to be interesting to see if this pattern holds up

Marshmallow feel

That it’s a TP-whatever?

Too harsh?

remind us to never play alt shot together at an experience haha!

I used to play high spin balls due to my previous iron sets, but now that I can get a bit more spin out of that part of the bag, I've been able to move to a lower spin ball to help couteract some wayward tee shots.

Just want a soft cheap ball, fortunately the soft balls seem to be cheaper.
