What is an absolute deal breaker when you are looking for a new ball?

Just want a soft cheap ball, fortunately the soft balls seem to be cheaper.
Are you going to try the Amazon ones?

More than $40/per dozen. I'll play them, but I'm not buying them.

Too hard
Soft without greenside spin ( I'm lookin' at you SuperSoft )
Lack of distance.

If that's your threshold Academy Sports has the previous gen ProV's running for $39.97 again just saying

That's typically what I wait for if I want to go with something in that range. Very nice!

I have finally moved away from the Bridgestone e12 line to their tour B. I will now only play urethane balls to help with holding greens.
I've played all of the Tour B lineup. Can't wait to see what the "VS" models have to offer.

I too am in the can't use a low iron spin ball camp. Just doesn't work for me.

High spin off the tee. That’s a killer for me and something that will have me instantly turning away from it

I feel you I prefer the neon greens when I can find them just find that I can see them well both in the sky and in the grass and those are even harder to find then yellows
I have to have the visibility while it is in the air and down range, particularly when hitting driver. Several years ago, I could no longer see a white ball after a certain point. Yellow has helped me there and finding the ballon on the ground.

After that, I want something that is high spin while having a somewhat softer feel/sound.

DTC. They served a purpose when I was learning to play. On days I hemorrhage golf ball’s I wish I was still playing them.

But thankfully I’ve gotten better and don’t have those days too often. So balls from companies without original R&D are a deal breaker for me

My personal deal breaker is a high spin ball. Depending on the ball it can cost a club or more in distance compared to a lower spinning ball.

If it scuffs just by looking at it wrong, I want nothing to do with it. (Looking at you TP5x)

I am testing the VS Green right now and loving it.

Surlyn. The material looks odd to me. Who put a ping pong ball on the tee? It's completely in my head, but it looks odd to me.

Clicky feel off the putter. Immediate DQ.

Partial wedge performance. It has to launch low and have hop and stop action. I hit that shot too often to throw it out because the ball doesn’t perform how I want.

Low spin around the greens, I need all the spin I can get.

That's nice to hear I am pretty sure those are the follow-up to what I currently use in the Bridgestone line so nice to hear they are holding up as a ball

That is part of what got me off the Kirkland balls when everyone was saying to try them

Dumb question but serious one.

All Surlyn or just the matte finish ones? I went through a phase where I really liked the matte finish then I got into fall golf and could not see them for crap on the more overcast type days and snapped out of it.

Made in their own factory, preferable in the US is a big plus.

I'm on the other side from most here. I'm looking for as low as spin as possible off the tee but still enough to hold greens. I seem to generate quite a bit of spin on the top side of my bag so looking to lower that launch. I still look for a premium ball though so I can have greenside spin because I lack it with my sweeping swing in wedges and lower clubs.

I appreciate the various releases of patterned or themed balls etc

Also understand the branding of the , ball by name of manufacturer and model etc …

That’s all I want to see , it also helps imo watching the ball being predominantly singular colour . Rather than additional colours etc
