What is the MOST you would pay for iron grips?

I'm about the same. Maybe $12.

And I would have a problem with grips costing double that regardless of how long they last because they generally last longer than the turnover rate already. They'll just cost more for everyone along the way.

I wonder if we went back 10+ years and asked this about putter grips, what the answer would have been? Genuinely.
Before SS burst on the scene and others.

Even with triple the durability?
That quantification maybe changes the calculus a little. I would definitely need to see and feel them before committing. I’ve got soft baby hands and don’t deal well with MCC and cord.

Appears I would pay around the $12 mark. And because I’ve had good success otherwise, no, wouldn’t matter how durable or how much tech something has that would be more.

That's one grip for something you use more than your entire iron set combined though. The math is pretty out of balance on that.

Still a single grip on a club.
And if we go by use, that should wear out even faster considering how much use it gets...Yet costs 4-5x as much.

Im not trying to change someone's mind. I have no idea what grips cost at the high and low levels.
In my head though, if a grip lasts 3x as long as a standard grip, and I like it, double the cost is a pretty good deal.

I pay around $15 now, so $20, but they have to be some next level stuff.

I think, before THP, i might pay more for longer life, but i seldom keep/play irons more than 2 seasons. Maybe more than 1. So that’s not a huge value to me. Now if there was tech that i benefited from, measurable and sustainable that could be very different.

If it was a specialty driver grip or something, it might be a little more accepted like a higher priced putter one. A 7 piece set getting regripped at that kind of cost is a different animal. And with how individual grip choice is they'll just get cut off like most long before they're worn out. I mean I get why a grip company would want to promote longevity and be able to charge more for it, but they'll have to sell it to someone else.

I am not even sure what most of this means.
The question seems completely hypothetical. I was speaking to the actual question. If a grip were to last substantially longer, I would think more cost is fairly normal. Like if I buy a battery that lasts a year. If another battery lasts 24 months, I would expect to pay more for it.

I’d say $12 a grip. I’d maybe go up to $20 if they’re going to last 2+ seasons

The most I’d go is probably what the jumbo max sell sell for. 14-15?

Not to argue, but, and it’s just me, using the battery scenario, I’m buying a battery for the planned time of my ownership, if it can be estimated or measured.

I’d likely not be the target of long life grips of i don’t plan or expect to keep the clubs they go on long enough for the value to be there.

If they were installed on a new set that might be different, but I’d need to know before ordering.

If a battery already lasts longer than most will own the vehicle no one cares how much longer it lasts. And doesn't want to pay for something they'll never get the benefits of.

Doesn’t paying twice much for a grip that lasts twice as long equal the same thing? I don’t even know if this gang keeps them in the bag for that long. Plus the tinker factor.

I think $20 - $24 is the vertical limit.

$15-20 for the jumbo grips I seem to be gravitating to lately

I didn't say twice as long. I said double the price for 3x as long.
For me that's a bargain. Especially on the driver shaft, where it doesn't change year over year.

$30 or so. I had leather grips a few years back and they were definitely worth it. Only switched because I went JumboMax due to a wrist issue

Lamkin UT+ and UTx+ are new, awesome, last, and about $10. So I don't really feel the need to pay double for anything.

Nothing changes. Cheap and comfortable is all that matters.

I don't wear out grips that quick.
You must be lucky to find both cheap, and comfortable, that’s not a typical 1:1

My CP2 Wrap are plenty durable. And I can’t imagine what kind of grip “tech” would make me pay more than $10. But I MIGHT try one to test it out.
Grips that would be guaranteed to last three times as long wouldn’t interest?

I pay $10-$12 per grip, regrip them 2-3 times a year.

All things equal, if it comes close to that, sure. If there’s any technology or intangibles that cost more, that can certainly sway me to spend a bit more.

The real challenge with durability of a grip, is the ability to pull it off and reuse it on a different club with no ill effects.

I’d say $20 per if they lasted over 2 seasons.

If it both absorbs vibration well and is soft so that I have as little pain in my hands as possuble, durability isn’t much of a concern to me. I’ll change them as needed.

I can buy my grips of choice for $6-7. If there was some sort of new material that did the things I want from a grip, that was twice as durable, I’d pay $12-14.
