I've been thinking about what shot is most nervy for me lately and I think I know which one it is.

For me, it's a water hazard down the left with 140 - 170 yards into a green. That could be a par 3 or an approach shot. Either way it's a nervy shot for me, and most of the time I end up flaring it out to the right with an uncommitted swing. My 'big miss' with irons is left, it's so easy to get nervous and bail right.

How about you?

Fairway bunkers longer than 125 yards

100 yards. 10 yard in either direction I fully know what club to grab and what shot to hit. When it's at 100, my brain has a meltdown.

Green side bunkers. I'll either take 27 shots to get out or knife one.

Forced carries. They get into my head, even when I clearly have enough club to carry them.

Short sided chip over a bunker. Worst shot in golf....especially on a par 5.

Nothing like "birdie chance" to double bogey in a heartbeat

10 ft putt to save par.

Green side bunker, green sloping away, water on the other side

Forced carry over water 140 or more. I am consistent enough that this should not bother me, but it does.

Anything with water left

Downhill chip onto a sloping green. Blading it right over and leaving it short are both in play and both spell disaster

Greenside out of deep rough. You just never know how much its going to spin. For me hole outs from any lie over a ball deep is pure luck.

Same brother...same.

Literally the only shot that gives me pause and makes me overthink anymore. Anything else? Go at it with confidence and mitigate the damage when it happens.

Nothing worse than leaving it in the bunker...sometimes twice...and it blowing up the entire round.

Funny how we all have different perspectives. I'll make bunkers my miss, or even hit them on purpose, because I know how the ball will come out. But to me deep rough is proof that Hades exists.

A 65–85 yard wedge from the middle of the fairway after a really good tee shot. It’s almost like I forget how to swinger golf club at that point

Anything from 30 to 70 yards. That's where the swing thoughts start piling up, and before I know it, I've hit it fat, bladed it, or found some other creative way to screw it up. Realistically, I should be getting up and down a lot more often from those distances than I do.

Happened to me last night...................bombed my tee shot down the middle, 80 left in and I chunk it and blow the hole.

Same I'm very comfortable in a green side bunker.

Right now like a 112 yard wedge shot, can't find the sweet spot on distance.
I'll also second the short sided green side shot out of thick rough. Never know what I'm getting.

The first tee shot that won't tolerate a fade.

downhill lie, with any carry over water.

The windmill gives me fits.

An iron approach that can not have any hook in it at all. if there is trouble left then trouble is my middle name.

Time to hit that 180 yard pitching wedge!
Steep downhills.....add as much loft as you think you need to. Then drop 2 more clubs....

Doesn’t even have to be over water for me. All forced carries bother me.

This is mine as well. Particularly where driver is required on one off the tee, but really any. Gets in my head and i end up doing dumb things with my swing.
