What is your most nerve-wracking golf shot?

It’s been the short-sided, high flop shot lately, as my once soft hands are apparently chapped and I’ve completely lost the touch.

With diminishing worry -

Short and high chip, out of thickish grass ,over the bunker and onto green and trying to stop it.

Have seen this often enough with historical trepidation. Having sufficient , evidence of improvement.

I’ve still angst. But it reducing and almost to
neutral.

Ask me in 12 months , maybe favorite shot lol

Green side bunker, green sloping away, water on the other side
This one right here.

I'm also not loving water down one side of the fairway 150-200yds to the green. Last year it would have been on the right, now that fade/slice has gone I'm more likely to miss left.

Depends which way you play the hole, mate 🤣🤣

I've been thinking about what shot is most nervy for me lately and I think I know which one it is.

For me, it's a water hazard down the left with 140 - 170 yards into a green. That could be a par 3 or an approach shot. Either way it's a nervy shot for me, and most of the time I end up flaring it out to the right with an uncommitted swing. My 'big miss' with irons is left, it's so easy to get nervous and bail right.

How about you?
I was never stressed playing golf even though I'm very competitive and played A grade with a lowest h'cap of 3 but that was on a course I'd consider easier but could still hurt you if you missed your shot, now of course old and health 😉 issues I'm happy to just hit a ball.....

Off the tee.

Sometimes it can be the perfect lie 50 yards off the green. It's like it's too easy and too often I end up crapping the bed.

Pitch over a hazard to a short-sided pin from a tight lie.

Lots went with Driver , but in the end ,
what’s the key?
That is, there an alternative shot available?

And with a Driver, yes, there is Long Iron , Mini , Hybrid etc …

When options are reduced , and your almost constrained by playing shot, that may not be your most favorable …

The equation gets harder .

150+ Forced carries off the tee box.

Any greenside bunker shot, especially with a less-than-pristine lie or stance in the sand... my nemesis.

30 yard pitch off of dormant fairway in the winter. Chances of fatting or skulling it are high due to the ultra tight lie.

Tee box with right OB.
I really do actually have nightmares about it.

100 yards with water or hazard short.

Short sided wedge with about 5 feet to work with

These are so clean!

180+ from the fairway (rough)

Water hazard along the right side of a fairway. Not ideal for a fade (slicer).

60ish yards. I'll either put it close, or hit it 30 yards over the green.

Greenside bunker where top lip is at my shoulders or higher.
