As someone who’s trying to break 100, every part of my game needs a lot of work. But if i look over my scores and do a little dissecting, at first glance 42 putts on my last round might lead me to think my putting is shockingly bad. Yeah, it is bad. Just not THAT bad. My putting isn’t good but it isn’t the part of my game causing 9 blowup holes per round. That distinction rests solely on my chipping. So that is the fire currently burning out of control with my game. I am focusing on it, and i like what i see on the chipping practice area, but tomorrow‘s round will tell me if i have improved anything. Of course, once i get that area under control (and hopefully see lower scores) another area of my game will need immediate assistance. For example, if i can start chipping within 10 feet and still rack up 3-putts, i will be focusing this week on putting. And honestly, none of the areas of my game are “good” compared to where i want to be, but it is a process of getting better. All i can do is plug the holes when the water rushes in.
