What was the last club that you actually went to the golf shop, (PGASS, Golf Galaxy, Dick’s, etc) to purchase… but, for some reason, you didn’t pull the trigger..?

I had no idea you could even do that. :ROFLMAO:

Jailbird 2-ball today. Had it in my hand, heading to the cash, and turned back.

The next one will be the first one. I've had plenty of trips to the shops to try stuff out, knowing that I wasn't planning on buying anything. But if I go to buy a club, then mud, blood, or flood, a club is coming home with me.😁

DS Adapt X driver. Honestly, I blame the fitter. It was an easy sale if the pre-fit interview had any influence on the fitting beyond I was taking lessons and undergoing a swing change. Bought it the next day but I walked out empty handed after the fitter said he couldn’t fit me. Probably the worst fitting experience I’ve had simply because he didn’t hear or trust a word I said. My new driver works great though.

Sounds like a mental breakeown

Dang that’s rough….. local shop or big chain?

Tried the titlest t200 and t350 irons felt good. The fitter said they don’t make adjustment to clubs and only offer standard so I left. When you don’t feel comfortable don’t stay go somewhere else

Well known chain. I’d normally agree with the fitter saying he can’t fit me if I can’t hit the same shot twice and I’m sure they get a bunch of folks claiming to be better than they are that think they know about fitting. I came in with a specific ask to get away from the low/low shafts I’ve been fit into because my swing has changed considerably from that fit and it has affected my contact. The only combo he brought out had a Denali Black shaft. My goal was to get back to a 250 carry with more spin. I had to look like I was kidding myself barely being able to clear 200 with sub 2k spin. I get how it looked but man, I’m still hot.

It’s rare that I buy a club off the rack, or going with the intention of buying a club. I will go in and hold on to a used club every now and again, and sometimes put it back after thinking. I’m a sucker for cheap wedges. I like to try different grinds and bounces.

Odyssey S2S #7.

Haven’t pulled the trigger.

Yet.

Ya that’s tough man. Been there before almost exactly but at my local shop. Thankfully they know (well knew) me well enough at that time to just say, “Josh, you’re hitting it all over the place and I can’t fit you. Why don’t we try a few things to work on and then we’ll reschedule haha”. I was super thankful and love that place.

I went in a couple of years ago with the intent to buy a TSR2 driver. When I got in the sim to hi it I just couldn’t put a good swing on the ball so I didn’t get it. It was a me thing at the time not the driver. I wound up ultimately getting fitted and bought a Paradym X.

I did get fitted at PXG for irons recently. I didn’t intend to buy anything but I am still thinking pretty hard about getting them.

I’ve had fittings like that at other places and fittings where my misses never showed up. Neither tried to sell me anything but they did a great job. They’re usually pretty busy for good reason. My contact issues have been mostly solved with the shaft change. In the end I wanted to find the best fit but I’m getting my old summer distances in mid-40 degree weather so I guess all’s well that ends well.

Was trying to remember a time when I've actually bought a club from a physical store.

I can only remember doing it once. We bought my wife's last putter (odyssey eleven) from PGA tour ss

I honestly think that's the only time I've ever done it.
