I may have been slightly odd recently and I feel that you deserve an explanation.

This week my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

The Initial Shock is still affecting Us.

It was detected during her routine Mammogram this month. 3.0 Millimeter spot seen on her exam. No lumps were palpable. She had had Mammograms since 35 because both her Mother and Aunt had Breast Cancer. All her prior exams were always negative.

First there was a stat Biopsy. Which appeared to remove the entire lesion. But unfortunately they called her back two days later to come back A. S. A. P. Never a good sign. It was positive for invasive ductal carcinoma.

Again a Stat Surgical, Oncology and Radiation therapy appointments were scheduled.

Good News.

It appears to be Stage 1a.

Receptor testing and genetic testing confirm a non aggressive disease which corresponds to the best prognosis.

Her Surgery is scheduled for Friday. It is so small and non palatable the Surgeon recommended only a lumpectomy. Followed by 6 to 8 weeks of Radiation Therapy. Which every single specialist agrees is the best way to treat her disease.

While this is all good news. The emotional roller coaster was a nightmare.

I apologize for my less than perfect behavior.

Please forgive me and thank you for your Prayers and understanding.

She is going to be O. K.

If you have to have Breast Cancer this is the best type and the best way to find out.

Insist that everyone in your family get their yearly Mammograms. It definitely saves lives. In this case my wife.

Thanks again for your friendships.

P.S. WE Just came back from the Oncologists Visit. She reviewed all the results, Surgical Pathology, Genetics, and Receptor testing. She doesn't feel that Chemotherapy is necessary. She expects a total 100 percent cure, remission of My Wife Eileen's Breast Cancer.

Thank you so much for your Prayers and Miracles.

Special thanks to @Jjb @Jman @GolferGal @Canadan @Space Bandspac

The opportunity to take our mind off Cancer for a few moments a day was priceless :drinks:

My thoughts and prayers are with you, your wife and entire family

Johan, I am sorry you and your wife have to deal with this! THP is behind you and want to send a big digital hug your way!

Johan, my brother, hoping everything will be ok! If you need anything, you have my number!

Thoughts and prayers to you my friend. Timely post as my wife just had her annual mammogram today and she got the dreaded "we need you back here right away" call. They found 3 spots that they needed to look at again. 4 hours later diagnosis was benign calcified nodules.

We also just went through this with my mother who is a breast cancer survivor. Last year we went from diagnosis, to lumpectomy to radiation and chemotherapy in a matter of 4 weeks. Then 9 months of recovery.

Best of luck to you and the wife. Early detection is key and really drives the high success rate. Be strong and you'll get through it together.

Johan,
Prayers for your wife and you. I hope both of you are able to find peace during the chaos.

Wishing the best for her and you.

Terrible news but awesome that it was found so early and responded to so quickly by the medical pros. You said yourself she’s going to be ok.

Thoughts and prayers my friend. Go hug your wife. Tell her you love her.
