Like just out of nowhere something just broke?

Right now 😭. I made a comment about a month ago in a thread about impact location that “I hadn’t hit a ball heel side in over a year”

Famous last words. I’m practically hitting the adapter right now and can not for the life of me get back out towards the toe. Blowing through headcover set just outside the ball on impact drill to keep you from extending the club to far out.

I’ve about decided I’m going to have to use a brick so my mind will do everything it can to keep me from crashing into the brick and breaking the club.

It's been a while (one year or so) since my driver decided to forsake me, but it can happen suddenly and without warning! It usually happens in the form of a nasty low hook that I just can't shake off.

Irons on the other hand...:poop:

Like 2-3 weeks ago haha. Went to hit in the sim after a week off and BAM. Swing was slow, neck and back got sore fairly quickly, & heels strikes was all i could hit!

Decided that putting and chipping was better so went to that haha. Following week I follow it up with the normal swing and has been there ever since and I've been concentrating really hard on finding that swing thought or feel that keeps this swing.

Welcome to golf is all I think about during these moment of mental breakdown haha

When was the last time I had a driver swing?

Can always be a time.
Every time I go and swing a club, at some point during, the swing completeley disappears.
Could be early, could be mid session, could be late. Sometimes it is recoverable..... often it just goes downhill and there is no coming back.

I want to say it was last July-ish. something went off in my swing oddly after a spell of driving it maybe better than I had in years just before that. Just all of a sudden lost the face and couldn't find it for about a week.

Man it feels like every 3rd time out, if you argue that I ever had a driver swing to lose. :ROFLMAO:

Middle of last season went through an extended period of time where Driver just sucked and I had no idea where it was going on any swing.

I've never found mine.

What's today?

Front nine on Dye, Day 1 of the Grandaddy. Had no idea how a driver worked for quite a few holes.

Yesterday.

At GrayBull… been focusing on irons so far with my lessons, though I’m sure we will spend some time with driver soon as golf season approaches. I do feel like hitting drivers indoors is awkward for me

It's been at least 10 years since I have been able to hit my driver, or even my woods for that matter. I can hit every part of the club except the face. I have a period of 8-10 weeks off the end of the year, so I plan on finding someone to help me figure it out then.

trying to emulate the Kawashallow dude....watching his videos too much!

About two weeks ago I played one of my best rounds ever. Everything was clicking including driver. Played the very next day and you'd have thought I hadn't played in a year. Nothing worked. Whatever swing groove I was in the day before apparently just left my body. It's a crazy stupid game we play!

last week. First hole beautiful draw in the center of the fairway. Didn't hit the fairway once for the rest of the weekend. Not once. Got lucky finding a bunch of drives that I thought were gone, but I was in the crap all weekend. On the 18th hole of the final round, I pulled my drive probably 80 yards left into someone's front lawn.

I totally lost it after some rather serious head and neck surgery and 'C' treatments in March-April 2020. Once I was cleared to play, April the following year, I knew rather quickly changes had to be made. Neck and shoulder pain was rather noticeable when I did swing a club. So found an old coach and we worked on things I was allowed to do per my care team. I do know my putting drastically improved as did my short chipping and short chip & runs as it was the only things I could work on for a while as the healing took place. .Once totally cleared, he rebuilt my swing and these days its work in progress. Maybe not as far, but more in the fairway than the trees.

In the last two months. I’m trying to find it again.

I lost it for a 1/2 a round in late September, nothing but weak pop ups. I made a setup process adjustment at the range a few days later and it came around back to playable thankfully.

To be completely honest, I never really had a consistent driver swing until about halfway through last year.

I might have had some hot streaks where things seemed to click over the years, but it has never been anywhere close to automatic like it has been the last 6 months.

last night during simulator league.
short left. short short. long right. long left. whatever. wherever.

i'm usually accused of "boring golf" for being shorter by more accurate than the others.
but last night someone asked if i was throwing the game in order to boost my handicap.

i've got a bit of a reset to do on Friday morning!
