Im quite the bourbon novice. Spending more than $40 on a bottle not going to happen. Some I've tried and not mentioned above.
1783
Evan Williams Single Barrel
Larceny
Early Times.
They were all good by me.
Another one I tried and liked was 1792.

I enjoyed a pour of this bookers last night, this was a really good batch and I hate to see it getting low!

I usually always have one Booker’s on the shelf so this one is on deck:

Though Christmas gifts at work, my Whiskey supply has increased with some bottles Ive never heard of. Tonight calls for a pour and im excited for it

Couple of questions for the group.
What is everyone's favorite low cost bottle. Lets say you were on a social security only budget what are you buying?
Also I wonder if the selection is better for the not State run type liquor stores? In my state of Idaho the prices are all MSRP and set by the state if they are on sale. Its nice that a bottle of say Eagle Rare 10 yr that I bought today was like $40. But we never get the Willets, Pappy's or other unicorns.
Thank you for everyone's responses. I have one more question.
This is my first year of really hunting and collecting. I have several bottles I have bought but I just don't want to open them as they are hard to come by and I wonder if I open them if they last very long.
Should I be worried about opening a bottle and letting it sit for a couple of years or months? For instance I found a bottle of Bookers recently and I don't want to open it.

Whiskey sealed will not go bad, generally speaking.
Whiskey opened, has a shelf life. Some believe its forever, but they would be incorrect, again, from a general sense. Most believe it to be 18-24 months, before you start getting cloudy and altered flavor. You can increase that, by transferring to a smaller bottle or sealable decanter after to allow for less air.

So the cork that sealed the bottle before opening it doesn't seal it after a couple of pours?

Its not that it is less sealed, its the air that changes things, hence the idea of moving to a smaller bottle.

I generally don't spend a lot for spirits. I usually drink Tullamore D.E.W. whiskey or Buffalo Trace bourbon. I was just gifted this bottle of Teeling. I'm not opening it for a while and wondered if anyone here has tried it.

Enjoy, while I am not a huge Pappy fan, it is so sought after and people love it.
Cracking it or saving it?

Early Times BIB - used to be better but still good available in Idaho periodically.
Buffalo Trace- almost always available
Wild Turkey Rare Breed- always available
A little more than $40 but $55 on sale often - Jack Daniels SBBP
Yellowstone - also on sales in Idaho often.
If you start showing up to your liquor store on delivery day( right as they open), you can score Weller 107, EH taylor, Blantons, Bookers, and Old Fitzgerald, along with the eagle rare. Though you probably don't get as many allocated bottles in Twin as we do in Meridian, you also have less competition

Oh it’s overrated for sure but I couldn’t turn it down. I’m not sure yet, I might save it for a special occasion or it might find its way to unicorn.

Very nice. I’ve been seeing it more and more in the last couple weeks.
Yea, supply is slowly meeting demand. Still don't even see them here in Michigan. They get stashed in back rooms for friends and family of store owners. One day my Prince will come (lmao).
