They also know I am not a flipper and when I get something they were excited about I bring sample. It took a while for sure.
Love this. This is very much my style as well. Those personal connections can do wonders. I've been building a similar relationship with the people at my local spot but I'm new to the area and it definitely takes time.

Yes. Had it at the distillery and own a bottle. If you like Willett, it’s their wheated and a bit smoother on the finish. Pricey typically when it can be found, as the MSRP is about $150 I believe. I paid $159 for mine in Knoxville where it seemed every store had it
Was just at a store that actually had this for $190. Still more then I wanted to pay but the first time I’ve seen it less than 200 or even 250 around here.

They also had a bunch of Rare Character and Blue Run on the shelves for MSRP which I don’t usually see.

I bought some blue run stuff recently for about 30% below MSRP. I think that’s weekend works bubble has popped a bit. It’s good rye though!

Scouting in Vegas has commenced…

Severely all over priced here in the airport…

Got out of there with less than $70 in damage.

MSRP I believe is $150-160 so it kind of makes sense.

If it’s the rare character with the crazy labels, every one of those is store pics, so most of them come in at a similar price range. I have multiple bottles, and two that are open, and I don’t like either one of them honestly.

Yeah it was all the crazy label numbered “Limited Release” Rare Character. I think it was 01 thru 05.

so the weird thing about that brand, is every one of those bottles is a “store pick”. They are sourcing barrels and then selling them off to individual stores.

I know they call them really limited, but when 29 stores get the same barrel with the different label, it’s very strange to me

Yea that's bizarre.

Though this store likes to do a lot of store picks so it makes sense they would have them.

Oh I like this

Popped open the JD Heritage Toasted tonight. Very tasty easy sipper.

eager to hear how people are enjoying the Dark Arts stuff. Seems like a lot of great options but it's a steep buy in.
There were a couple bottles at the store I was at yesterday but I wasn’t quite ready to spend that much on a relative unknown to me.

Also, local pickup today. In-store taste test. Really smooth with caramel notes.

they are another NDP that sources all of their stuff. Really cool bar that decided to blend and create their own line. I will be there next month so excited to try all of their stuff as right now I only have a single bottle

MGP stuff rebottled and refinished?

But aged and fancy. I can dig it.
