This is about 10 yards right of the fairway. The area used to be grass, but there’s been an issue with run off/erosion so it’s been mainly mud lately. The gravel is new as of this week and hopefully will help. GUR? I have no idea, but it’s a very rocky gravel mix.

Are any of you maniacs playing this down? I’m definitely not scraping up an iron over it.

I would play it down.
Clean lie, looks firm, easy to control.

I'm not playing it from there. Free drop no nearer the hole for me.

On the PGA Tour, you would most certainly get a drop.

brand new clubs and not a competition? yeah, maybe I roll it into the grass

3-4 years into my workhorse irons? like said earlier, lie seems good enough to play just fine

GUR
Drop in the grass, no nearer the hole

The lie is actually not bad. Should be able to make decent contact.

But your club is probably getting scraped up a bit.

I am playing the shot from there, the lie looks perfect. Why take the chance you drop to a worse lie.

We have a couple areas at my course that are crushed granite like this. We have a local rule that it is considered an extension of the cart path and you get relief.

The lie doesn't look bad, but I still think it should be marked/considered as GUR. Free drop, no nearer the hole.

I played one just like that yesterday, but this was with 24 guys and $20 each

Normal fun round, I'm probably getting to grass

This is my answer

If I'm just having a fun knock I'd move it. I'd expect to have to play that in a money game or match. I do personally think its a clean lie but also GUR

Feel like it would at least come out pretty predicable from the lie

Based on what I've done in the past I'd probably play it. I wouldn't like it, but I'd play it.

Phil Mickelson Water GIF

Rocky gravel mix? I’m calling GUR and getting my four month old clubs outta there

Its something I don't have to worry about really, so I am playing it as it lies.
At a THP Experience in competition, we would let the foursome decide based on everybody getting new clubs at each event.

I'll hit it from there with an old club I carry for just such an occasion. Not about to ruin a good club.

Definitely GUR and should have been marked as such.

Clubs i'm looking for an excuse to replace i'd hit it.

Competition of course you hit it---That is a good lie and you'll get good spin off it. It's actually a very good lie.

Clubs i just bought and a casual round---i'm moving it without question, as @JetSpeed said that's gonna leave a scrape probably.

I don't want scrapes on something that's less than a month old lol
